An Important Announcement (Patreon)

Hey everyone, how are you? I hope you are well.

I've decided to pause Patreon billing for the time being.

I'm behind on my work, and I don't feel right continuing to charge you while I'm unable to deliver everything as planned. You've supported me, believed in my work, and helped me keep my games alive, and the last thing I want is for you to feel like you're paying for something you're not receiving.

I'm truly sorry for the delays and for letting you down. Creating these games means a lot to me, and so does every single person who has supported this journey. I never want to take your generosity for granted.

I've decided to pause billing until I can get these problems sorted out and get things back on track. As soon as I'm able to fix these issues and get back to a more stable situation, I'll reactivate billing. Until then, I don't want to keep charging you while I'm struggling to catch up.

Hiya, i read that that your GFX Card broke, is there some way we can support you with that ? i mean: It sounds bad if your machine breaks, and thenyou stop getting paid how are you gona get new parts ? Also if this is too direct: please ignore me: i dont mean any offense: but i think i woudnt mind continue suppporting for bit even when you dont release because your machine is broken.

Don’t pause your subscription; use that money to buy a better graphics card instead—otherwise, things won’t move forward. If there’s anything we can do to help, several of us have hardware capable of handling the rendering; just let us know how to go about it, and we’re all set.

I hope all the negative people in here will face hardships in their life and get dropped by people around them, because 'support' apparantly needs something in return. But I'll keep civil and won't say anything further about it. Dark, I know how hard it is for you to admit all this. You always give everything you got in each release of all of your games. You're a true artist, way too much of a perfectionist for your own good. Dabbling in rendering myself, I can't fathom how much work you are doing all by yourself. You have some incredible people to help you work on each release, but the bulk of it all comes down to you and I applaud you for doing this 'solo' for so long. Pausing billing is a serious issue. You're cutting of most of your income and I hope people realize that. It may suck we are getting our updates with delays or with content changes, but at the end of the line we always get fantastic content and that's why we SUPPORT(!) you. If there is any way I can keep my support going, please let me know. I absolutely do not care how long updates take or whatever else people complain about. You're a good man, an amazing creator and an awesome person I can pretty much call my friend. Please keep your head up. Stay strong. I've had more hardship in my life than you ever will, 8 years fighting a very aggressive stage 3 stomach cancer and another 5 years fighting the aftermath of two operations and the worst chemotherapy there is. I lost a shit load of friends and colleagues because of it. But life goes on, No need to cry over it, For your information, people have the right to be Negative. It's been 17 months since LIA had an update, And over 5 months since LLS had an update, Im not talking about a rewrite or a remake; we're talking any major update that moves the story forward. So yeah people will be negative since they have provided money every month to get very little progress. That's how these subscriptions work.

First of all, I hope you are currently well and sound. We may have different opinions, but this doesn't mean I wish you any hardship especially like you experienced. But it's my point of you losing friends and colleagues because of it. Why? Why did they go? Did they found it demanding? Or you weren't doing what they required? Supporting you during those times is what counts, without expecting anything in return. Ofcourse it sucks updates aren't as regular, but look around the adult games industry. Every single game that has the same amount of content Dark produces has update cycles of 6+ months. Other games even have full studio's behind them. Then take a look at the subscription levels. Dark's tiers start at freaking $1 and 3$ dollars. The people that shout the loudest of not getting anything usually are on this level or heck, they drop their subscriptiom the moment they downloaded the latest update. Sorry, I got no sympathy for those lot. You're supporting an artist, not buying anything. Of course you can voice your negativity, but I'd like to see people look at the wider perspective before blatantly dropping negative comments. Like I said, we probably have different opinions on the matter. That's fine, no harm done. Wish you all the best in life!

Of course. Get our hopes up and then get our hopes again by saying you only needed 3 more days and now this. Just like every other good developer something always seems to happen. Ridiculous

Hey Banana, First of let me say I'm sorry to hear about your Stage 3 Stomach Cancer and your horrible long journey fighting Cancer and dealing with the Chemotherapy treatments I'm truly sorry that happened to you and i wish you nothing but the best, But a couple of things bro you should never wish hardships anyone or for them to lose people they love especially over something so little as a negative comment on a Patreon forum you know better than that and shame on you, Secondly the reason there are so many negative comments is because this Developer has done this exact thing many times over the years, Taking longer than initially promised, Delaying the update multiple times and sometimes even going silent and not communicating with people so people have started to rebel and voice their frustration loudly, Thirdly something you have to understand is yes we support this project with money every month but that comes with the expectation of regular updates, You wouldn't continue to have a Netflix Subscriptions if a bunch of shows you liked that were suppose to come out in June and they've been delayed every month until October you'd be like wtf Netflix I'm not giving you my money anymore you've gone back on what you said and delayed my shows time and time again so fuck this, I supported this project for 5 months a couple years ago because i loved the game and the content and when the Developer started pulling this shit i stopped supporting, Open your eyes bro he said he needed 3 more days to finish the update and 5 days later he said he's pausing billing, If he was genuinely close to finishing the update he'd just work on it until it was finished weather it was a couple days or a couple weeks and we as fans wouldn't care, The negative reaction is because the Developer has earned his shady reputation because of his actions and that's just what it is man hopefully one day you'll see that!!
