Taskmaster Chat
I don’t entirely agree with the team task comment. So far, there’s only been two team tasks, the first of which as his teammates said he basically carried them (and it didn’t make it in the edit or the outtakes but he basically carried the 10 minute argument in the studio that followed, as well). Similarly, while this is kind of the fault of the task and might be a hot take, I actually found his guitar playing the only watchable part of the armpit task. And so far it has just been those two
I don’t think either task so far really let any team dynamics shine, either
I think the casting has been a bit of a let down compared to the previous series tbh. The girls are great, but it feels like they could have been a one-off new years episode. It’s obvious there’s no banter between them and it leaves Alex and Greg to pick up the comedy when they’re in the studio. Saw the leaked line up for next series and I hate to say it but it’s not excited me at all
Hey gang.
I have 2 shows to do tomorrow morning and ill be doing traitors first. So please use a spoiler thread if you wish to discuss because it might take a bit longer to get the reaction recorded for a few weeks
So there’s Gavin and Stacey done! Smithy’s sister Rudi with twins called Brighton and Aldi. Pretty sure that’s where they were conceived!
The Taskmaster podcast with Richard Ayoade is a must watch
Probably Hollywood Bowl which they were previously invited to, has a capacity of 17k - 18k 🤯
Also AO Arena Manchester, im going to that.
I’m considering going to the Manchester show, I’ve been to three recordings but I’m aware that this is more of the US tour they did last year which I really wanted to go to, so I would love to go to this
Also, John Oliver was a guest on the US tour and was apparently amazing, so while he’s way too busy to go on anytime soon I can see him going on one day and we already know he’s going to be excellent
Ep6 spoiler chat
Im all caught up
It’s very hard to describe Frank Sidebottom (aka Chris Sievey), so here’s a clip. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CqeuDRvltXc
He was one of those comedian’s comedian, and it doesn’t surprise me in the slightest that Alex was a fan. I suspect a good chunk of the audience were too young to remember him, and he died in 2010 sadly.
Im going to see taskmaster live on stage in may
Presale is tomorrow
Currently in the queue! The venues are massive compared to what they played in the US before I reckon
5090 ahead of me …
I’ll take 40!
Damn they added an extra LA date because of the demand 🤯
If anyone missed out on the Manchester show, I imagine S24 will be filmed in May, so you could go to that
Of course, there will be a ticket battle for that, as well, but if you get there quick enough (and apparently use mobile, though this might change by then), you should be fine. And if you aren’t successful, keep checking, paid tickets might come up
