Yes, the characters that Pemberton and Shearsmith play are from Psychoville, as is Emily the love interest. There’s a few references in there that fans would get, which I won’t spoil

You noticed the Hannibal Lector lamp - Pemberton put up a couple of youtube videos of him as David, and lots of Americans in the comments were very panicked that he was really a serial killer 😭

Psychoville is great! I definitely recommend watching it some time. Yes, some of the characters are problematic, but that's usually the case with these 2. League of Gentlemen for example... 😭 The whole Tina Turner thing was referenced in Bernie Clifton's Dressing Room as well. Both Steve and Reece (and Mark Gatiss) have played many female characters in TLoG as well. (Which I hope you do decide to give a go once you've finished INo.9 even if you decide it isn't for you...)

Yes. It was also their first one. It’s absolutely insane and really really dark, but so funny. Psychoville, while really good, definitely gets kinda lost in the middle of their two masterpieces. But definitely don’t go into TLoG expecting it to be anything like INo9… 🤣

Sarah Solemani plays Emily in this one - would very much recommend another show she's in called 'Him & Her'. Very funny sitcom about a young couple moving into their new flat, a bit 'Gavin and Stacey' esque. Incidentally also features Joe Wilkinson and Camille Coduri (Rose's mum in Doctor Who)

I think league is more legacy but my first intro to them was psychoville and we were all obsessed with/terrified of the silent singer

So psyched about this episode. I personally loved paychoville and these 2 were my favourite characters. I cried when Maureen found out she got cancer. If you love their weirdnerss, you can always see it offline. The plotlines are insane 😂 Loved seeing them back! And even the Mr Jelly cameo 😂
