Isaiah John

It's an interesting text, not least because it feels like a good polemic for convincing, hmm, lay academic folk that we do not have to be antiscientific or even antitechnological. I think a lot of left-adjacent thinkers have a kneejerk response against technology, and we are seeing how that perspective can be twisted into anti-intellectualism. It is scary, as the piece reminded me of how weird and sad I felt when MIA crashed out. She was/is an intelligent person with a biography that gave her a lot of good perspectives, but being waylaid in bad research about one thing, like vaccines, can hijack a person. It's only made more scary by seeing how many self proclaimed leftists and progressives became TERFS when they got caught up on, say, why the(ir) divine feminine can't include queer people. We can use information, even if it was found, proved, and disseminated in a capitalist system. We "have" to, until we can change it.
