Dragon Ball Z felt like such a phenomenon in the early 2000s. Have any of you ever rocked the dragon?

Can we get Mitch on the show as a guest sometime? I really want to hear his reactions to an insane anime

General weeb question for Heather (or any of you, but Heather’s got the most weeb experience): I love hearing your enthusiasm for the anime you love. Any stories about popular anime/manga that you’ve kept trying to get into but just keep bouncing off of?

As comedians, have you guys thought about watching any anime comedies? It would be interesting to see how you paragons of your trade would analyze the Japanese styles of comedy. If you want some recommendations, mine are Cromartie High School, Kaguya-sama Love Is War, Osomatsu-san, and Gintama.

Favorite gundam kit? The show has gotten me into Gundam the anima and also gunpla in general, wondering if anyone has a particular kit they recommend

I’m doing an Evangelion rewatch right now and I was curious if Heather is still doing that annually or if Eva breaking up with her changed that

After re-listening past eps, both Heather and Matt both have said they would stream videogames on Twitch. I know Nick has in the past, but will any/all of you ever do a twitch playthrough again? If so, would love it if you would all play Trio's on Fortnite! We could even setup a "Battlebus Only" match so the other players can take it easy on the boys ; )

The Mountain That Abides

I am curious if Heather, as a fan of several mech shows, has any interaction with Eureka Seven. It is my favorite anime and I find it to be a sort of reflection of Neon Genesis Evangelion: a lot of similar themes (love, attacks from an entirely alien entity, child soldiers, the relationship with our parents, the rise of a fascistic state) resolving to a different conclusion. It has beautiful animation, an amazing soundtrack, and the mechs surf through the sky. P.S: It's also much like NGE in that essentially everything after the original series is hot garbage.

The complete absence of any news about Chainsaw Man S2 or the Reze arc movie is killing me one day at a time. Do you have any industry insider info on its progress (or lack thereof)? Would you possibly do a segment or episode discussing some of the work culture around Anime studios and the rumors about what may have caused the aforementioned absence? Are you excited for Lazurus?

Brave Baboon

General weeb reporting for duty. If you could change the art style of any anime, what show and style would you choose. For example, I'd love to see Gundam Requium in Demon Slayer art style. 🤙🏽

An anime trend that seems to continue to this day is the random baseball episode. I think the most recent example would be in Jujutsu Kaisen, but older anime like Pokemon and Samurai Champloo had them too. I am wondering if there is an anime trend or trope you wish would go away? By the way, the episode where Nick and Heather talked about reading Michael Crichton novels as teenagers "activated" me. I did this too and had no idea anyone else shared my love of MC as a teenager.

I‘m almost done with the first season of Chihayafuru after listening to the Pilot Presentation. Really comfortable mix between thoughtful characters and tense karuta scenes. With were the show is at this point I‘m curious how it will fill two more seasons and hope it doesn’t overstay its welcome, but for now I am hooked.

Long time, first time. I've been getting into manga and anime this past year, and I appreciate that your podcast has served as a helpful roadmap for checking out some of the popular series currently being released, mixed in with some all-time classics and hidden gems! I have a question and a recommendation. Do you know of any good kid-friendly or all-ages anime or manga beyond Pokemon? Finding interesting series to share with kids beyond Nintendo adaptations and Studio Ghibli movies is tough! Finally, I'd really love to see you cover Hell's Paradise one day. It's a Studio Mappa series that is practically engineered to appeal to the three of you! For Heather, there's an element of Battle Royale as a group of death row convicts battle weird monsters, their captors, and one another to earn a royal pardon. For Matt, there are elements of Lost as they must explore a mysterious island with ruins and supernatural paradoxes to find the elixir of life, which may or may not exist. For Nick, there are... uh... boobs? This is an awesome shonen anime that seems to have flown under the radar, despite being instantly iconic and a blast to watch. Thanks for making watching anime a little more fun, and no worries if you don't have a good answer for my question. I just really love to hear people I admire share their insightful opinions with Nick!

Happy Holidays Get Anime’d crew! Just wanna say I believe the pilot presentation was a success and I hope you do more. Quick pitch for the next one, Alt-Gundam. Where y’all would watch the first episode of Gundam series not tied to the universal century timeline. Please check out G-Gundam.

It’s been awhile since we’ve heard about wiger’s hog, I mean piece. Any updates on wiger’s piece?

Hello, long time listener, first time commenter, just recently joined the Patreon, I have been wanting to listen to this podcast since you first announced the concept. I just wanted say thank you from the bottom of my heart, I’m really glad that have been able to listen to y’all on a weekly basis. Y’all have gotten me through some depressing time in my life (still do). If I could afford to give move I would. But with all that being said, thank you all for the hard work. Know that you are appreciated.

Don’t know if this counts, but, since Blue Lock (mumbles: “blue lock”) season 2 has been mentioned, I just have to say: even though the animation is not as good, the final few eps are incredible. I think Heather especially will like it, because it’s basically “combat” involving special moves. If soccer were like this, it would be the most popular sport in the U.S.

I think a good series to watch would be ranma 1/2 remake on Netflix. It has fighting for Heather, it's animated for Matt (also there is a panda that uses signs to talk), and problematic seminudity for nick. Please note it's a remake from an 80s series but it still holds up.

Relevant to Matt’s kidnapping story: imagine a scenario where your wife is being held hostage at a known location. It’s a 35 minute drive and you are going to rescue her. Do you put anything on to listen to?

When watching an opening do you prefer to see the lyrics translated or have the song words shown, but in English letters? Or do you take the chaos of nothing? I personally liked the ms team opening on hulu where it was switched up.
