the way I lit up when I realized Ranch actually did double up the audio clip of Nick saying "ough"

I have to tell you how great it’s been to see the clips you’ve been putting on TikTok. Getting to see Nick’s evil grin, Heather’s exhausted senpai energy, and Apodaca is like if a hug could be a person. Ranch is also adorable, but I knew that one already because I’ve watched her twitch streams. Please, keep posting them! 😁

Hell yeah DoodleBob tattoo! My Dad has a tattoo of Quailman from Doug, I guess old people getting tattoos of alternate versions of Nickelodeon characters is a thing!

Matthew Siegel

Keeping it in and doubling it, Ranch is confirmed to be a Blankie.

The show does it a lot, and yet every time something is revealed to be either (1) a giant face or (2) a spiral/drill it reduces me to a “Lucille Bluth squealing in delight at a Gene Parmesan reveal” level happy mess.

First time, long time!!! ( Boy have I been hoping to have a chance to say something like that ) Anyway thanks to your persistent talks of Japanese curry I am a 10000% a curry head now. I make frequent trips to the asian super market near my house that I would only go to occasionally for the rare special ingredient. I'm now there at least once a week picking up a BIG BOX of golden curry. I eat the hottest one and it's still not hot enough! I'm also a heat seeker like Nick. Thanks for making my anime food dreams real and every shot of curry in an anime that much more mouth watering.

Zeon Liberation

Got a manga recommendation for primarily Nick. Tokyo Higoro or Tokyo These Days. It’s about a retiring manga editor and what manga meant to him and how the medium has changed over time. also trains.

Dragonball has a great Spanish dub. Ramna, too. Shrek is superior in Spanish.

There’s a Japanese meatball recipe that I like to use when I make curry at home. It’s very tasty and simple. For veggies I usually add carrots, potatoes, and broccoli. If I need a curry fix with a little less prep I’ll cut hotdogs or sausages into octopuses and add that to the veggie mix. It’s quicker, and you get a bunch of little octopus dudes to munch on, which is pretty fun. P.S. - If you guys ever decided to do a Gunbuster mini-series I would be very stoked

Rational Knife

I am genuinely surprised that Matt and Nick said nothing about the fact that the Dai-Gurren defeats the Dai-Gunten airship by literally thrusting its blade-hog straight through the V and splitting it wide open.

H.E. Burrows

I'm personally really loving ORB so shout out to whoever recommended that in the chat originally. It's really fantastic. I understand what retrograde is now.

Have any of you heard of or watched Record of Ragnarok? It’s basically WWE with religious figures.

Loving rewatching this show for this podcast. It used to be a regular annual comfort rewatch for me, but it has been several years since my last revisit. Hearing you all enjoying the show, and some of you experiencing it for the first time is reminding me everything I loved about it when I first saw it on initial release. Thank you for exposing me to so much new anime and reacquainting me with some old favorites.

Starting to think I should also be watching this show

19 years ago (in a few weeks) my mom passed away from ALS. She loved SpongeBob. I'm sure she would've had a tattoo of him if she wanted tattoos. But she had SpongeBob pajamas she was burried in and had some stickers on her coffin. I also wore a SpongeBob tie to the funeral. (still have it when I go to another funeral)

Nick: I would say my favorite Godzilla movies (other than the original Gojira) are: Godzilla Minus one, Shin Godzilla, Godzilla vs Hedora, Godzilla 2014, and (even though it’s literally insane and makes no sense) Godzilla Final Wars. But honestly you could watch them in any order. There is definitely some continuity between movies here and there, but in the Showa era most movies can be watched without seeing the ones before. You just might miss the introduction of a monster. The Heisei era has significant continuity, and all but two of the millennium era are unconnected.

You all watched a Rakugo anime last Ani-Mayhem. I would like to share the manga Akane-Banashi as a rec. Think every sports Shonen story except: it’s about Rakugo, a young woman is the lead, it has awesome art, and it’s hilarious. I get so hyped every chapter about an artform that I’ve never experienced, and it’s all because the writing and art here are some of the best of the current crop of manga. In particular, I think this might be up your alley as improv/stage performers. It’s all about how each person uses their art to capture the audiences. The art manages to capture every nuance of their performances. It’s so very good.

If i could get Heather to sing the Japanese curry song randomly once an episode that would be amazing!

Ranch, the ultimate troll. Best producer ever

Blake P

Nick, I am not a fan of historical anime, non-action anime, or slow-moving plots. Orb is my favorite show of the year so far, thank you for the recommendation.

Pete Ficken

Breaking news(chews) from sleeper coffee! We had our first podcast referral customer today! Luckily I was wearing my Majima construction t-shirt, they were able to easily discern that I was the pete Ficken from the letters column:) We’ve been a LOT busier than expected seasonally, so I’m sorry if I was a little socially frazzled✌️

When I make Japanese curry at home, I usually mix the curry roux. My favourite combo is 70 percent Kokumaro, 30 percent Java. Kokumaro has the best consistency and Java has the best spice kick.

Dean Lowdon Clear

Can’t wait until they’re done with this show and we can move on to something else…

Wrekmayhem

Aum Shinrikyo is a crazy story. This podcast Hikikomori breaks down a lot of things like these. Very interesting.

Murphy

We’re getting so close to a full Rise of Skywalker episode, I feel it in my bones.

Matthew Mariner

I just joined and am coming into this blind -- somehow these three nerds make it super easy to digest shit

Seth Bullocks

Ranch, best producer ever, good edits! 😂

Vic

The double edit got me 🤣
