Hello patrons!

Therapy is in session once more - it's time for the next edition of Shelf Help, this time with a big focus on culling collections and making space.

Last night I got a visceral buzz from culling some children's books and toys from our shelves - it must be the season for it.

Happy Betwixtmas to those who celebrate!

Actually yours,

Jon

Loving this series! You mention going to a convention as a way of trying new games. Which uk convention would you recommend for a first one?

Actualol

If you're looking to buy games and try them out at publisher stands then UK Games Expo in Birmingham. If you want to play games all weekend (some from their library) then a gaming convention like Handycon in Milton Keynes would be good. At both it's possible to meet others, but can help to go with at least one other person. Airecon in Harrogate is also good and makes an effort to give you ways to join in on tables and meet others. I haven't tried loads of others tbh.

Blast-Ended Gaming

I really enjoyed this video. I noticed a number of games you just said "You shouldn't have that game" (Tsuro, Isle of Cats, Tiny Epic) and I'd be interested to know why. Perhaps a video about this? I like some of these games and would be interested in your take.
