hey guys! youtube age restricted my newest tsundere catgirl eden video and rejected my appeal, so i had to remove it, as it was getting no views at all and is literally my longest sfw asmr to date. i'm so upset, as i never broke any rules, and i am so so so careful. but there's nothing i can do. i'll either upload it on here or edit the audio to remove the affirmations (literally me calling the listener genuinely kind) which were incorrectly flagged as "sexual." idk yet 😭

feeling heart broken cause i've been working so so hard on youtube to make amazing asmr free for everyone. sorry to disappoint but thank you for being here regardless. will let you know what i decide to do!! xx

I've got to assume its YouTube's crappy AI auto flagging stuff it doesn't understand. If that is the case you'd think a human would be able to resolve it quickly but unfortunately YouTube seems to be on the decline recently, like a lot of other media apps. That sucks, I am sorry this happened. My anecdotal experience is that more and more creators adjacent to sex work/adult content (ASMR, etc) have been receiving unfair demerits on their channels and videos (demonetization, removal of content, channel strikes, channel deletion, etc). Unfortunately with the amount of content uploaded to youtube, demerits such as demonetization/age restriction are automated, and though youtube will never admit it, so is the appeals process for most creators. Without getting into speculation on why your video might have been removed, I would recommend trying to get into contact with youtube/youtubers who have partner managers who work directly at youtube. As much as the term "networking" makes me want to vomit, the reason tech in particular emphasizes it so much is because knowing someone is basically the only way to get anything done. You would be shocked at how dysfunctional these billion dollar + companies are; sometimes something completely unfair is seen by 0 actual people, and the moment it gets in front of a real humans eyes, it can be resolved immediately. Im not saying it is guaranteed you can get this video un-demonetized (its entirely possible that even if a person did see it, they might have some bias that leads them to leaving the decision as is), but knowing someone who can help if the going gets rough can help give you some security in the future. Source: I am tech-adjacent, have a bachelors in CS, and one of my professors has worked at youtube for 10+ years.

As a CS student I have to give a little point to youtube. Trying to keep the website safe and writing good algorithm is hard. (The 2nd part which I see a little more into) But as time passes ,maybe I see in incorrectly but youtube doesn't really wanna improve at all.
