Diane continues to exploit every insecurity that Helena offers her, but in Helena's fight to stand up for herself, she stumbles upon a potential advantage. If she chooses to use it.

Things aren't really getting any easier for Helena, but she's still trying. Or trying to try. The biggest challenge with this series is always to figure out how Helena should realistically react and figure out how Diane can navigate it, but we can overlook--or train ourselves to ignore--a lot of red flags for a crush who's giving us attention. That can only last for so long, though. Diane should be careful!

I do love this series. I really hope it's not starting to feel like the kind of slow burn that never goes anywhere. I just keep looking at Helena and going, "Hm, nope, she's not quite ready yet." And she's not.

But I think she's getting close. :)

Thanks for reading!

PHENOMENAL as always. I love all the little tricks diane is pulling off and how helena keeps falling further and further into being this pathetic confused gaslit lovestruck mess. The way shes still aware of whats happening but is clearly having moments where it just seems easier and nicer to accept it is so delicious. AND HER BLURTING OUT HER JEALOUSY OF THE OTHER STUDENTS AAAA

"Your essays talk about her a lot[...]Even the ones that don’t mention her.” is such a good line too

i love how drawn out this series is. it makes the story and character dynamics feel so much more relatable, and it really lends a lot if impact to the storytelling. each change in mindset feels monumetal
