Aww, they're studying their heritage!

When I was active in the SCA, I would wear a chain shirt to demos. And one of my favorite gags was to casually take it off (while people laughed at the position I had to take to do so), and casually ask a bystander to ‘hold this for a minute’. Another trick was to let somebody put it on, then, ‘Okay, take it off.’ (For those who don’t know, my smallish shirt weighed a good 20 lb, and you can’t just pull it off like a T-shirt. Standard procedure was to bend over at the waist so that your shoulders were at about waist height, and let gravity help.)

I feel you. Mine weighs about 30 lb, is knee long and wrist long. Wearing it with a belt is mandatory if you do not wish to derange your back. Good times <3

I like the lil ducks. What role do they take up?

Donovan "Ravenhull"

Mine was only just past the crotch, and short sleeved, but even then the belt helped a lot. That said, people are shocked that when worn, it isn’t toooooo bad. Weirdest experience was at a big event (the local ‘International Festival’), I was wearing it over a linen tunic, with a tied off sword and skull cap, walking around the crowds, when I felt something in the small of my back. I look back, and these 3 Girl Scouts (maybe 10-12 yo) were just rubbing their hands on my shirt. I mean, I can understand the desire to do so, but caught by surprise by minors kinda freaked me out.

Oh, I can feel this confusion just by imagining. It is not the norm, and can be very surprising.

Mascots, mostly. Traditionally, there is usually a rogue chicken in Little Nuns’ stuff, whom Ironlily did include.

Thanks for the response! I'm definitely keeping an eye out for more of their appearances in the future
