Lady Joanna, or Sister Joanna, who stands as a symbol of the relationship between the Duchy of Brittany and Ordo Mediare.

She was honored as a member of the Order of the Ermine at a very young age. Of noble birth, well educated, and deeply loyal, she was considered too valuable to be sent to war. To keep her from the battlefield, she has been arranged to join Ordo Mediare, hoping she would put her talents to use within the sisterhood, while also serving as a political bond.

Because of the special circumstances of her entry, Joanna is one of the few sisters who retained her original name, and she is even occasionally able to represent Duchy of Brittany.

Two servants followed her into Ordo Mediare. Unlike Joanna, they joined the sisterhood through the standard rites, taking religious names as their new identities, and continued to serve Joanna after joining the order. They were carefully selected individuals whose eye color and hair color closely resemble Joanna’s.

There is just something so nice and lovely about the white and black ermine flag of Brittany. I’m happy that even today they still maintain and continue their Breton language and culture. Nice lore and characters! It’s been great seeing the Ordo Mediare expand!
