Looking forward to this all week. Just like getting a new cool magazine in the mail.

I think that thing is about 20% cotter pins, lol. :)

Frank Yazzetta

Great vid 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 I'm ready for a mini wrench 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Daniel

those cotter pins have me TRIGGEREDDDD! looks amazing though, incredible job!

Dan Johnston

It's like spreading on the sunshine, right over the rust...:)

Dan Johnston

Another satisfying video. What a brute of a machine. One big potential OSHA incident. No wonder people only lived into their 50's back in the day.

Daniel

I like my cotter pins compact, I'd cut them down so there's only, maybe, 10mm protruding... Sooo loooong haha

Daniel

I have more a tendancy towards opening up my forearms on them, 10mm long and wrapped tight to the pin saves me from looking like I'm trying to slash my wrists open

Felix

Wow good job on the mag drill!

Felix

I assume this used to be powered from a line shaft using flat belt

Chuck Kirchner

Well done!! Is that in your new shop??

HTR....👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏🙇‍♀️🙇‍♀️🙇‍♀️🙇‍♀️🙇‍♀️🙇‍♀️🙇‍♀️🙇‍♀️ Watched part one, then part two. 😲That sir, was an hour well spent. I could watch you work, for, like, ever 😵. Underneath all that crud, was a machine built to last. Bloody fantastic job HTR.

Martin Ross

Is that the Craftsman lathe that you showed in your old shop?

Clifton Ballad

That thing came out awesome! I kinda want one. The sparks looked like a lower carbon steel, but that might have been the existing filler wire. Did the sparks change any when you hit original metal? I feel bad for your buddy who welded it though... Scratch start tig sucks LoL A cleaner way to start it is to hold the filler wire to the part, touch the tungsten to the wire then yank the wire away. Keeps from blowing the nice shiny point off the tungsten. The way to end a scratch start tig weld cleanly borders on insanity though, your supposed to run the arc up the filler wire and yank both torch and wire away from the plate... Yeah...No thank you. Awesome job overall and I really want one

handtoolrescue

Thank you! Yes, the main TIG welder is down and we used this weird older one that converts from tig to stick welding.

Clifton Ballad

Ahh I gotcha, the backup rig. I'm guessing the torch had a valve on it that needed to be turned on before each weld then. Running Tig like that is more like Oxy/Fuel welding than "proper" tig. Your buddy is really good at what he does to have gotten it to turn out that nice. Cheers!

Jeffrey R. Broido

Have you had any offers for it, yet? It really turned out beautifully.
