Most of the time, it stems from people who get prescribed pain pills over an extended period of time. Then, something happens and the prescription gets taken away, which leaves the person addicted and needing that fix. So they start buying the pills on the street. Then the pills become too expensive and someone suggests that fentanyl/heroin is cheaper and gets you higher. Most often, the dealers will give the person some to try for free. Then the person does it, and loves how it feels, so they go back for more.
