Yay , one of the best season finals and completely crazy Poor Monica her parents can be so Oblivious how their words may effect Monica. Loved how they had Hugh Laurie guest star. When Monica’s parents forget Monica’s right there at the table like read the room lol.

It’s finally here! So excited for this 😄 I loveddd your reaction to Monica and Chandler!! And also the ending with Ross! Apparently, David Schwimmer saying “Rachel” was unscripted and they decided to keep that in. Someone correct me if I am wrong. I hope that is not considered to be me spoiling anything! And another interesting thing is that when the scene with Monica jumping out from under the covers happened, the live studio audience went crazy and could not stop cheering and they had to wait for everyone to settle down. Correct me if I am wrong on that as well. Goes to show how many people back then and even now love the idea of Monica and Chandler. They would be so cute together!! If I had to wait back then, I would’ve been itching for season 5 pronto 😂

Yesssss I have been obsessively checking to see when this was posted! Apparently during the filming of this episode Chandler and Monica had to sit in the bed for several minutes because the studio audience lost their minds.

Even though I never really watched Friends I know a few things about some episodes, so I was kinda waiting for that episode more for the Chandler/Monica scene than Ross saying Rachel. Your reaction was perfect. Loved it. See you on the next one !

my mother said she was watching this in a bar in the 90s with her friends and when Ross said Rachel and the show cut to black the entire bar was screaming for over a minute. She said that the impact of that cliffhanger was monumental back in the day

Back in the 80s, 90s and early 00s.... most shows knew if they were being picked up for another season long before they filmed the current season's finale. Which is why they loved to torture us with cliffhangers!! Waiting 4 months to find out what happened was horrible.

This is the episode I have been waiting for your reaction to ever since you started this show!! I'll be honest though, as shocking and iconic as the ending is I was way more excited to see your response to Monica and Chandler and you didn't disappoint and I'm so glad your complete onboard with it! I thought you would, but you never know. I still remember how surprised I was when I saw it for the first time too. I thought the writers were very clever with how they psyched out the audience. They have Chandler say "who wouldn't want you", quite flirty but then to have Monica completely shut it down, like she has before. A few times they have teased something, like the beginning of this season or in the end of season one when he suggested they could get married if they were both single by the time they're 40. So, you think this is what's happening here too, but nope. I love it!! Oh and a fun fact, the actress playing Emily's step-mother is Jennifer Saunders, she voiced the Fairy Godmother in Shrek 2. Please please please, don't torture us like the show originally did and make us wait too long for season 5!! I'm dying for this one!

For the two big scenes - Chandler and Monica in bed together and Ross saying Rachel's name at the alter I was literally just watching your reactions insteaod of the show and both times you did not disappoint I loved watching your reactions to both scenes!!!! I absolutely loved this finale and thank goodness I didn't have to wait all summer for the next episode as I didn't start watching this show until the summer in between seasons 8 and 9.

I think that it was during the taping of another earlier episode that David accidentally said Rachel instead of Emily and the writers thought it was hilarious and wrote it into this episode as the plot twist.

Such an iconic episode, maybe the most iconic sitcom episode of all time. Your reaction didn't disappoint, Ross saying the wrong name was a CRAZY way to end the season. 😮 Also, as others have said, the lady playing Emily's mum is a VERY famous comedy actress. She still is now. But what no one else has mentioned, maybe because he's less well known outside Britain, is that Emily's dad is played by Tim Conti who was a well known comedian back then. And now his daughter Nina is. They're a big deal over here but most people don't realize it. 😂
