Okay is it bad I like this one better than the original? 😅

Max Ride

I think it's because this one is more aout the flying and more action than the first one. Because to me the first one didn't seem like it had too many flying/action scenes like this one has.

LOVE THIS MOVIE!!!!

Ann

I do too!!!

A lot of people found this one to be better, which is rare. I think Aliens (the sequel to Alien) is one of the other times that a sequel is even better. The original was good.... but the sequels get better budgets. And in the case of this one, filming and CGI and all that has improved vastly since 1986. I grew up with the original. I was 16 when it came out and have seen it countless times. SO......did anyone else catch that Penny was actually talked about in the first film?? Maverick is accused of 3 high speed passes over two air control towers and one Admiral's daughter. Goose leans over and askes, "Penny Benjamin?"

Kenny Loggins said that "Danger Zone" put his kids through college. But that "Footloose" was his biggest movie earning song....

As much of a dick as hangman was he wasn’t wrong about rooster in that scene. Even when you hate hearing him say it

Val Kilmer had throat cancer and couldn't talk very well. They actually used his voice clips and edited them for the few sentences that he does speak. The cool thing is that Cruise refused to do this movie without this scene. He wanted to include Kilmer, however he could. And this is one of the best scenes in the movie.

Tony Scott was the director of the first film. He was also the younger brother of Ridley Scott. Tony worked with Cruise again on Days of Thunder. Ridley Scott had directed Cruise in the film Legend, the year before Top Gun. Ridley also directed Blade Runner, the Alien films and is Executive Producer on a number of TV shows.

I even have a tattoo for these movies....in high school, I had the nickname Maverick (something about how fast I drive and being a typical leap before you look Aries). My bestie is Goose. And yes, she has the same tattoo with "Goose" ❤️

Let me tell you, this was thrilling to watch in theaters and this is one of the few "legacy sequels" that many (including myself) consider better than the original movie. While this is a much more action-oriented movie than the first one, I think it's pretty much better in every other aspect as well. They easily could've fumbled the ball with this one, but they knocked it out of the park instead! RIP Val
