I had the same reaction. I was in shock and didn't see it coming at all, I was in denial, like no way that is really happening. According to google, Arthur had the opportunity to do it when Dexter was searching for him before him driving off in his mustang. When he drove off from the shop it had already been done, but it also said Dexter had found the receipt for the shop in Arthur's wallet that he had stolen and snuck over there and somehow took the cap off the oil and that's what led to him catching up to him on the side of the road. I'm glad it didn't show the kill, because that would be even more heartbreaking than it was when it was revealed at the end.

I have been waiting for this one since ep. 1. I was late catching up when s6 was airing. I had s4 downloaded when a hurricane killed my power. I had power banks and charged laptop so I watched s4 as a way to get by the power break. No lie at 3 in the morning I blew up my best friends phone demanding he immediately send me s5. Told him straight up if he didn’t do it at that moment I’d never forgive him. Forced myself to sleep so I could wake up to answers.
