I have been waiting for this to start to see what you thought! 🙂 when I first saw the episode when it originally came out I thought it was weird not having an intro but I love the theme tune for this doctor. Looking forward to more episodes 😀

This was a really fun reaction. I'm glad you liked Jodie straight away. As you said, with all Doctors it takes time to grow to love them but you already definitely seem more into Jodie than you did with Peter after his first episode which is a good sign. Her Doctor is a lot more light hearted and very funny and also totally nuts lol, I had a feeling you'd connect with her more than Peter. So I'm excited to see how you feel over time. You're sadly right that the reception she got wasn't good. Not just at the start either, throughout her run there were people moaning about a female Doctor not working. Jodie really did have so much pressure on her shoulders and had to deal with a crazy amount of hate but she dealt with it brilliantly. She's a truly wonderful person. Bisexual, pro Palestine, pro immigration, goes to protests for trans rights, spoke out when the guy who plays Ryan was abused by racist scumbags, donated thousands to cancer charities etc etc. People often say she's like The Doctor in real life which is so true. I also have a crush on her, I'm not ashamed to admit that. 😂 As for the episode itself, a really strong start. Great and disgusting villain lol. Loved The Doctor's speeches. The relationship dynamics between the new companions are fascinating, I love that there's a group this time and I appreciate the diversity, I remember you saying not that long ago that Doctor Who always seemed to have white people in the forefront so it's nice to see them changing things up first with Bill and now with Ryan and Yaz. And visually it's STUNNING!! You didn't make any mention of that but this season just looks so cinematic, they had a massive budget increase again and you can see it. Ok, I'll shut up now lol, I just get excited. I'm glad you liked it and will look forward to more. 😊
