Can't wait for betrayal, it's been a blast.

Paul Welch

2 of the best Yogs thrown in for that patreon value!

Paul Welch

Mara Joy and Nilesy are great, throw in Ravs and you have a Scots quartet that would be wonderful!

Ryan Winwood

Absolutely generational fumble. I fully agree with the Storytellers final decision, it would've been unfair any other way.

Brad

Spoilers below: . . . . . . . . I think Jon's comment of "We don't want to waste ghost votes" and then Sullivan backing off his vote is what lost it for the good team. I think the story tellers made the right decision.

Avi Rubinoff

Yeah, the good team really snatched defeat from the jaws of victory in this one.

Harbinger5

The rule about the Sailor and Mezepheles seems harsh and effectively negated the benefit of choosing him to drink with in the first place. Furthermore, and more importantly in my view, If Ben had known the rule, the Mezepheles would likely have remained drunk after being chosen again. Otherwise, Ben and Laurie would have wittingly created an evil player - thereby strongly favouring the evil team. They kept saying they had done the sailor a favour, hardly! As a result, team evil had the votes to carry the day.

Paul Thomson

I really enjoyed the two wonderful Scottish accents in this one!

Kelly Leach

No Veruca Salt? That's my favorite chocolate factory death!

BlueSB

I think you guys made the right call here. It would have felt a bit unfair otherwise.

David Hayter

Josephine’s way of introducing her 3 for 3 made me think you should do a game where you have to roleplay a medieval towns person the whole time and when discussing your character or bluffs you have to roleplay as them. If the story teller catches you acting like a modern person or reasoning in a way that breaks the role play you “might” die

Electric Ninja

I agree with this, and I also think good team should have won, but I can see why it was ruled otherwise

Electric Ninja

IMO, the evil team’s goal should be selling another narrative, not using brute force to win games

Electric Ninja

While I disagree with the final decision (especially because of how much the sailor was actually punished here when it was said to be rewarded), I do understand why it was made and think it’s a tough call. I commented it elsewhere here, but it’s interesting to ask: what is evil’s goal? Is it to make a false world (which I moreso believe), to outnumber good/cause them to fumble, or is it somewhere in between the two?

No Name

Nilesy and Zylus fit so well one couldn't tell they were guests

Jay

What a cracking game - good showing from all the Evil team, and agreed with the Storyteller ruling!

Callum Doak

Love seeing the yogs collabs! I would love to see a chaotic large game with a good chunk of yogs and NRB.

Scott Clark

Disappointed that Sully is once again the forgotten Scot, just because of his horrible accent and love of tea. Though I much prefer this to when he tries to do a Scottish accent.

Alex Shelton

I love that Jon says he's singing the Halo theme and promptly hums a zelda tune.

Dominic Prichard

Yeah I agree that in that scenario they should have made the Mez drunk twice and thus made holly not evil because with that rule change that completely screwed over nilesy. I think the most balanced thing to rectify that they could do that was interesting was bring nilesy back to life saying he should have been sober but possibly letting holly stay evil. This would have made Dom have to say the phrase another time and possibly given them less worry to use no ghost votes on final day. I do think goods reluctance to vote on the confirmed demon with several pings should have lost them the game though. If you think someone is demon on last day you should vote on them. Especially knowing a mez is likely in game based on deductions from several people you shouldn't limit votes on demon candidates.

Vaxildidi

Thank you to Laurie for standing up for the Evil Team. Love the series, but I always feel like Ben goes out of his way to help out the good team unless they're winning in a wash.

Mike Hughey

Ben and Laurie made the right call. It was good's game to lose... and they did.

AndrewG2

I don’t understand how there’s even a conversation about who should win? Obviously evil. They picked their spot, and despite unanimously agreeing Dom was the demon, good didn’t vote with the strength to kill him. Evil done the work, they win?

FreshTeegs

Hey team, made this comment on the YouTube but firstly want to shout out what an AMAZING job the editor does here! Truly some of the best of the best BOTC editing around. I wanted to ask if it was possible to get the images of Laurie and Ben/storytellers back when they're sitting in on player private chats? I heard a couple of the players mention it but couldn't actually see them on screen this time, when I know they're almost always displayed in all the previous games.

Gabrielle Stephenson

I do believe it’s a mixture of the two. I know a lot of people have the philosophy of only demon-chasing (in scripts where the demon can’t move) and choose to try to kill people who have the option to be demon candidates, even if they are likely good and not kill minions at all. Yes, killing minions are not the end goal, but the longer they are alive, the more misinformation they can present both with their ability and their bluff, and if you continue to only focus on killing demons and leave minions alive, if an all-evil win occurs, that’s not the evil team’s fault.

thetree85

It might just be me but it definitely sounds like Dom says “entirely unlikely” at the end of day two which isn’t the phrase and could have save a kill in the night. I agree that good had the perfect opportunity to kill the demon so evil should have won but one less kill could have changed the game

Vaxildidi

Tbf to you, I am not being 100% objective here,as I often root for the evil team because they always feel like such underdogs and like...doing things like drunking the Mestophiles on night 1 believing it would mean their one time ability wouldnt fire just seems like *such* an early hamstring.

Vaxildidi

That said, you have a MUCH better understanding of the mechanics of the game than I do, and you almost always have an explanation for your decisions, and I am always entertained by the scripts and games you run with NRB, so please dont take the criticism with any more than a single subjective person`s rooting interest.

Daniel Card

It 100% had to go to evil - STs picked the kills so there was a washerwoman-confirmed flowergirl who knew that Dom was the demon, and with Josephine picking Ken and Jon knowing the king was in play and only claimed by Holly, it was as confirmed as anything ever is in Clocktower and good still beefed it. And that was with Mara and Jon both talking about mez turned players, so they knew 4 wasn't enough. It was handed to good on a plate once, they messed up, they don't get another chance.

Jess Power

It’s great having two Scottish folks in the game. 😝 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Nils Beckmann

What are the special name tag scrolls about? 😅 Is there an ingame or outgame reason for them?

Henrik Persson

Evil only has one goal, keeping the demon alive until final two. Anything else they do is in service of that goal. If the minions dying helps build a world where the demon can't be the demon, then all minions dying can be a great thing. You don't have to build a world if no one is suspecting the demon.

Jellythorpe

Spoilers ---‐-------------------------‐-----------------They absolutely made the right call. Good had such a huge helping hand this game; drunking the mez day one (which the STs weren't letting go off before Zylus checked), killing the ravenkeeper, then letting Angela live when she was about to learn the demon was either herself or dom (rest that didn't vote were dead) It's rare I disagree with the calls made but this episode really felt tough on evil and a good win after that fumble would've sent me 🤣

Jacob Glicklich

True, but I think the factor of simple numerical dominance is underrated. Usuallly by endgame even someone that reads socially good and there's apparent mechanical confirmation will be considered as an evil suspect, due dilligence, and limited suspects at that point. That's also why the Mezepholes can be a rather unbalanced minion: just straight-up adding an evil player that, unlike Bounty Hunter, can connect easily with evil team, unlike Goon can't turn back, unlike Fang Gu doesn't kill an evil, is pretty powerful.

FreshTeegs

Hello rogue comment here but if Isaac was interested in coming back on you guys should absolutely bring him back, rewatching earlier seasons and he's so bloody good, I'd love to see him up against modern cast e.g. Mara Holly Ken

Will Seamon

I actually think it would have been hugely unfair to the evil team to negate the Mez’s ability with the Sailor drunkenness. The point of the Sailor’s ability is that they can’t die, but at the cost of making good players drunk. If a Sailor is allowed to negate a minion’s entire ability, they’re just a good-aligned Poisoner who also can’t die.

Any chance you can make the character symbols larger as the actual screens only cover 1/2 of the full screen, it allows us as fans to be able to see and read it easier as its so tiny in font. Utilise the whole screen by making the text and symbols larger please.

T Pearson

Completely agree. The sailor permanently negating a minion whilst being immortal is over powered for the good team. Who start off stronger than the evil team anyway.

Harbinger5

In normal circumstance I agree. In this instance no, because Ben overlooked the ordering of characters waking up and its impact on the Mez’s drunkiness going in to night two. I recall him making the decision on who would be drunk on day two thinking the Mez had been unsuccessful in first. I am not super experienced at this game either, so perhaps not fully grasping all aspects.

Lee Coomber

I'm loving the Yogs crossover. Tom appearing in NRB content brought me to you and now I'm supporting. Long may it continue <3

OfficerGex

It would also be nice if they could get the icons correct.

John

Dom said the phrase five times. There were five players alive. If I were the Storytellers I would have honored all of those and killed everyone. Would have been a tie. Yes, good wins ties, but neither side really deserved to win there.

Sean Hans

Josephine's role-hinting game is SO close to my heart - I do a 'promised true but possibly misleading' hint about my characters instead of just 3-for-3's or such. More fun for me, and it gives a puzzle to solve to people that CAN 'solve' my role or lead them down a garden path...

RAJA

100%. Evil were playing so well too. Nobody had an inkling of the yagga phrase until they gave it away, and they had managed to convince the whole town it was a poppy grower game. They were stomping by Night 2 and I feel the STs did so much heavy lifting for the good team and they still blew it. Good also never managed to execute an evil player. The three killings of a useless Town Crier, a Ravenkeeper, and an evil player was crazy unbalanced in favor of the good team. I'm very surprised to see anyone say that evil didn't absolutely deserve that win on the last night given how well evil played the whole game.

Random User

Wonderful game! And it's always especially wonderful to see a dom game! He was the star of the show (even if he was too anxious to enjoy it haha)

Timothy Hogan

Classic Jon, "I'm singing the Halo theme" and proceeds to hum a Zelda song.
