ARE YOU EVIL?! - A Board Game Podcast

The format may be subject to change as it goes forward, but right now we're looking at a fortnightly podcast, where lovely Sullybobs will be talking to a different guest each week about all things board games. This week he's talking to Adam!!

We'd love it if you give it a listen, and because it's a private podcast just for you guys, if you have any suggestions for segments you'd like to see added to the show, don't hesitate to drop a comment below

Was just thinking yesterday how much I'd love an NRB podcast ! If you're thinking of goals for kick starter, I'd love a behind the scenes/mini doc/making of type thing. Makes for a ridiculous amount of editing but would be great to see how it all came together and works

I have a few things I would want for possible kickstarter rewards based on what I would like to see. I have two big ones, one being way more likely to work out than the other. 1) Bloopers definitely. I know you already said that in the pod, but I want to confirm that that is the best idea ever. 2) Less likely but something I have wanted for a while: A POV showing of an episode. What I mean is a regular episode but we only see the information one person is getting so we as the audience can work it out with them. Maybe a poll could happen to see who's POV we do? I don't know. This is just something I think I would like to see.

Totally agree with the feelings on player elimination. I steer away from them. I had Bang for a few years and only played it for the first time a couple of weeks ago. The group loved it though, but I think it was more because we have played so many games together as a group, sitting out for 20 or so minutes didn’t matter and we were back into another one soon after. Great format guys. Looking forward to this series. More excellent content. Really spoiling us.

I'd love the Kickstarter, but living in Latin America makes it complicated for me to receive some kind of extra tempting stuff. But still, if you need ideas I would say some magnanimous Dom image, the eat shit Blair t-shirt, an actual billiard room picture with the billiard boys. Also the actual wining and loosing stats and (since Adams pain may be a good hook) a more painfull scoreboard en the channel.

for the kickstarter, maybe just an actual round table or separate convos of people discussing what they were trying to do in the game or how they felt, etc. i always loved the little “how did you stay so cool the entire time??” moments at the end, but obviously you all need to end it at some point

Love the podcast! Couple of things for the kickstarter if you go ahead with it. Not sure if they would be possible and would probably be high amounts for them. 1) being in the audience for the recordings, not sure if this is possible depending on the space. 2) being able to participate in the game.

Brilliant. Just the right length for the drive home from Brighton too! We would defo back a Kickstarter for more BOTC. For stretch goals, totally agree with the discussion about the game - love hearing you guys talk through what you were feeling and thinking about the plays so either an additional vid with a commentary track or just the round table chat about what went down. Would there also be any possibility of including an exclusive showing - like a gala premiere - with a bar and maybe a few of the NRB drew there, partly as it would be lovely to meet more of the community (appreciate this would be £££ though).

For a high tier perk how about the chance to play a game of BoTC online with you? I’m thinking it could be a game with half the people from NRB and the other half are Kickstarter Backers.

If you want an idea for merch... do a "Are you evil t-shirt" where you have caricatures of Brooke and Sullybob each with two speech bubbles saying are you evil? And on the back with a finger pointing out at the reader of the shirt asking "Are you evil??" Great show, can't wait for the next one

Here are some random ideas on the top of me head for some perks: * Bloopers, obviously * Behind the scenes video, seeing how this production came to be * Full un-edited versions of the night phases * Additional video on tips & tricks on how to be a good Blood on the Clocktower storyteller (hosted by Daddy Ben) * Additional video on tips & tricks on how to be a good Demon (hosted by Carley!) * Additional video on how what NOT to do in Blood on the Clocktower (hosted by Sully) * Bonus episode of Blood on the Clocktower where all the players are presented as sock puppets * Reaction videos of the players as they re-watch the episodes and see how everyone was lying in each other faces

I like the idea of interviewing players afterwards for each game to get their reactions for various Blood on the Clocktower games. Also, I am all about a Sully Storyteller game. I joined the Patreon because of the latest Blood on the Clocktower production. Totally worth it. I think people that think they hate board games actually hate Hasbro board games personally. Board games become boring children's toys. Also, agreed, Monopoly.

Fantastic stuff. I’ve pictured Sully hosting a podcast for a little while great job. Mail bag question for the Laurie episode: Laurie, at what age did you first really start curating your Goth status and which is your favorite Cure Album ?

Loved the podcast. I do like the featured questions but personally, I'd add another positive one. With go to jail, and highs and lows, 2 out of 3 of those questions are negative so adding another positive one could balance it out. Maybe childhood games. Maybe they played weird unique games or just grew upon buckaroo. Could transition into how they got into board gaming as an adult. Also, I'd add a silly competition where you could have a leaderboard for guests. Like who can say the word Boardgames for the longest time. Something daft that'll make guests competitive and listeners laugh. Just a few thoughts but overall I really enjoyed it.

As to benefits here are a few ideas: T shirts, those lovely Botc logo badges (signed or unsigned), copy of the game/app, props from the shoot, thank you vids, games ran online, names in credits, votes on a person playing a particular character and hoodies. Great fun. Honestly I became a patreon solely to see the extra BOTC... even as it was great to see the live play with all of you together...since it is that expensive. . Maybe do an anual one and stick to the digital format once a month for now. I bet the vast majority of the viewers would like to see as many games as you can play of BOTC... so when having to choose between 1 live show or 3 digital stories... I think the digitals will be perferred. I understand for you it is far more satisfying to play in real life.

Great podcast, really enjoyed this, can't wait for the next one on Monday. Question for the mailbag though: As someone who fell in love with board games after watching the channel and going as far to buy a few, Cosmic Encounter, Herd mentality, Shobu etc. Have you any advice on what to do where, after buying them, you find yourself with nobody to play them with because your friends dislike board games? It's such a shame to see good games gather dust on the shelf.

The social element is really important in board games! I streamed couple of board games and the most fun comes from talking around and about the game. We tried to do Spice road, but it is just exhanging cubes for other colors, and it had really nothing else to talk about. Then we did Trivial pursuit and got to talking about countries we've visited and things that come to mind from the questions, it did so much better and was so much more fun!
