Communopoly 2 - coming this week on Patreon! (Patreon)

Hi everyone!

We have a few changes and additions to our release schedule, so we just wanted to let you know what's coming up. Firstly, we've decided to delay the next episode of Board Game Club (in which we're playing K2) for one more week, so that episode will air one week from today on Tuesday 29th August. For those who were wondering about what other games are coming up, we can also now reveal that we will have episodes featuring Block Party, LoveCraft Letter and Beast as we roll into September!

As for this week, Saturday is going to be a big day because everyone who is subscribed to our Patreon at all tiers will be getting seven days exclusive early access to Communopoly 2 - the sequel to our most successful video EVER! Will Sullivan, Holly, Tilly or Laurie be able to survive Dom's megalomania as he once again becomes Joseph Stalin?!

As someone who is also working overtime currently and as a result fell asleep while watching Smash Up (my issue, not the channels lol), extra days to play catch up on content is welcome. i know all about the incident. thats why they gave us smash up instead and in that very episode they said "join us next tuesday where we will be playing k2" im asking what changed? if it would be disrespectful, why would next week be any more respectful? this is just bordering daft now. Hope they know joseph stalin is a mass murdering fuckhead btw, where Dom's act is almost idiolising the guy. very disrespectful of the millions of people who sufffered under his rule my father-in-law would be sick... best delay that too right? I have feeling this has got more to do with the other incident than anything else. Its a poor choice, they have paid their respects to Hassan, using his death as a way to avoid actually addressing the real issue is abhorrant. unsubbed.

I think you've highlighted the place where some people take issue. "Even Adam did admit it was bad to use his power to make girls send nudes" Adam doesn't have "power" in that sense; he can't "make" girls send nudes. (And I haven't heard of any situation where he was using any actual power, like offering career inducements or threatening action, etc. Though if he was doing those things, that's absolutely wrong.) Maybe there's something wrong with asking someone for a nude in the first place. Maybe there's something wrong with trying to talk someone into something like that if they weren't initially on board. Those are worthwhile conversations to have. But I wish we could do it in a way where we still give agency to the women involved.

The Ken Part 2 patreon BOTC was the last full video with Adam in it. He is then is stealthy exiled. I wish they simply came out and told us honestly. You could of simply admitted he was taking a break while things were sorted out. But no you intimated for 3+ weeks he was on vacation. Read the comments the last 3 weeks and you see how much NRB at best mislead if not lied to us. Misinformation is the worse thing they could do. We know now also Brooke broke up with Sulivan to go back to the US. We also haven't seen Isaac for awhile. By not being upfront it calls a lot into question that are probably coincidences.

Yeah your probably right. I do wonder if they filmed a second botc with Adam after Ken Part 2 patreon for this month and it now it has to be scrapped. They have double filmed in anticipation of schedule conflicts many times. They knew Fringe was going to be a mess on schedules this month.

I would say there is a difference between speaking carefully while conducting an investigation and misleading. NRB is a business and Adam is an employee. Ultimately them making premature comments could lead to legitimate harm and legal issues. Most HR departments would demand bland-ish statements be the only public statements while gathering information and taking appropriate steps behind the scenes.

You are correct however instead making any comment they were silent about except during "Concept" they made a joke about Adam's absence. Most took it was intimated Adam was on vacation. It was unprofessional and completely against what a real company does. NRB knew since atleast Jul 29 yet silence. This not an issue of vague statements.

And it's probably what their lawyers told them to do. NRB seems like a bunch of friends hanging out, but they are a company and can't just do what they want to do. You also have no way of knowing who knew what then. It's possible on Concept that those involved weren't aware of what was going on yet. Remember, a lot of the people who appear on the show are guests. Not employees of the company. Legally, I doubt they can even outright say that Adam is on a disciplinary leave just like your boss wouldn't be able to tell me that about you.

Brooke & Sullivan announced their break up on social media in April, and both stated she will likely continue to be on NRB. If you follow her on social media, you'll see she's been living her best life and was up at the Fringe as recently as August 10th in her own words "visiting friends." Your wild accusations are why lawyers wouldn't want a company to say more. Yikes.

Wild have you even read Carley's comments? I have barely said anything. If you think this all happened this month then you didn't. Carley was talking about events going back to May. I also said agreed that the sully brooke thibg was likely a coincidence ynder that timeline. Carley herself said she told NRB multiple times and they said they would change their practices and then they didnt it was the second or third time she asked NRB to actually act. It was that frustraing that she decided to leave. She was removed from the wiki awhile ago. There is also comments during the filming with her games in australia. You can flame me all you want but you clearly havent read her statements.

I only joined the patron to be able to watch Adam, if he's gone, I have no reason to actually be here. I have no idea what is going on, or what he did, but he was a good entertainer and I enjoyed watching him above all the other people.

No one is flaming you, but you are making wild accusations about people like Brooke and Sullivan that likely have nothing to do with it. As other people have repeatedly pointed out, legally, there isn't a lot that they can do. I have read Carley's comments and I have the thread up right now - No where does she mention May. No where does she mention telling them three times. Do you have a link to something besides the YouTube comments because I'm on her social media and I don't see it there either or her community tab on YouTube. I'd love to read the comments you saw regarding May.

Where has Carley made statements other than the comments of her own youtube videos? I've not seen them anywhere else, and she doesn't mention dates in either of them. She was about as vague as NRB was anyway, so I don't really see your point

Brooke and Sullivan broke up months ago and announced it and are still on good terms. That is a very random point to bring up in all this. It is totally unrelated to the current situation and NRB has no reason to announce things going on in the personal lives of the cast members. I'm pretty sure Isaac's absence is purely because of work conflicts, as far as I know there is no issue between him and the crew.

I'm in 2 minds with this and really don't know what to do. On the one hand I've been an NRB $25 patron since the thing was set up and I got into NRB/Nerds because I was always a fan of Adam and believed he could turn his life around, and I still hold out some ray of hope this is a misunderstanding. On the other hand, I have grown to support all of the players past and present who have taken part in these games and I feel it's unfair to unsubscribe because of one person's behaviour but at the same time do not wish to be financially responsible for supporting the behaviour inadvertently. I appreciate there's a process but should behaviour like this be confirmed for a second time, I imagine I'm not the only one feeling this way right?

An employer is unlikely to be able to confirm anything about an employee other than to say in the future that the person is gone. Your own employer would be unable to explicitly state anything that you had done. It would only become public knowledge if it went to court. The Huw Edwards scandal is a good example of that - Tabloids broke a story about an unnamed presenter. The BBC confirmed that there was an investigation against an unnamed presenter. There was speculation by third parties about who it was, but no confirmation. It was only Edwards family who confirmed the identity. If this was a privately run channel, they could say what they want - if you and me are just friends making shows and I find out you did something bad, I can do or say whatever I want. NRB is not just friends making shows. It's a channel run by a company.

But we're not stakeholders in the company where we are legally entitled to HR information. We are customers, but customers aren't legally entitled to know anything about their employees. They have not lied as far as any of us know. They have not stated publicly what happened because legally they cannot. And honestly, it doesn't matter if it's bad for business. How much easier would NRB's life be right now if they could just fire someone and publicly say it's over, it's done, they condemn that person and they are glad they're gone? Probably a lot easier. But then they'd get themselves sued real bad. If we were a board of directors, they would be able to give us details on an HR matter, but we would in turn not be able to discuss it publicly. We are not a board of directors.

Nope, only known about NRB for about a year now. So I really have no idea what is going on, or what was said or by who. All I am aware of is people keep bringing up a comment from Carly, I don't even know what she said. But I stand by what I said. I don't care what entertainers do in their personal lives, and if its personal then it shouldn't be brought to his place of work. He is a good entertainer, and the only reason why I watch NRB. I don't care what his political views are, I don't care what his religious views are, I don't care if he has 4 wives and 3 mistresses, I don't. As long as it all stays personal and he can smile and entertain for the camera. Which is how it should be. So unless this, what ever this is, happen in the work space, and from the sounds of it from the little I had gathered, it isn't, then he should still be on the show and entertaining people.

Innocent until proven guilty would only apply if he was a first offender. Since he had a similar allegation in the past where he admitted he is guilty it is no longer applicable. Still we shouldn’t make any judgment, it’s not our job to do so.

His description of those events is vague, and probably he had not given himself sufficient time to reflect (three months is nothing, perspective-wise, especially given the dramatic, public and emotional nature of the situation). That said, nowhere in the piece at all does Blampied claim to offer career inducements or threaten any kind of negative/hostile action against anyone. It's just not there. He describes it instead as "negotiating power," which as I say is incredibly vague, and he even softens that with "as I saw it." We have no idea what that entails. The only specific we have is that he lied about being in an open relationship, which is a horrible thing to do. Apart from that, however? He says that he abused "the relative power of [his] celebrity in order to negotiate an initial No into a Yes." What does that actually mean? I have no idea and neither do you. Except that, taken at his word, it does mean that these women eventually said "yes." And adult women who consent to a thing ought to be treated as damn adults, however Blampied rates his celebrity and his ability to "negotiate." EDITED TO ADD: It's been a while, so I did a touch more digging and found Blampied's original statement on the matter. He writes, in part, "I didn't make threats or offer perks in exchange, but I exploited my growing public position and often my friendships with these women, all to fuel my ego. By manipulating them in this manner, and acting completely inconsiderately of their feelings as I asked for these pictures, I have violated their trust and my girlfriend's trust." This is not good behavior, and it's possible that what Carley alluded to recently will turn out to have been worse (we don't know; again, there are no specifics as yet), but it does not appear that Blampied used his "power" in any real sense to coerce or force or "make" anyone do anything.

“Known liar?” I’m all for letting the process and investigation play out before condemning anyone, but why would you claim Carley is a liar? I don’t know of any time she’s lied about anything, except when playing a game where you’re supposed to lie, but it would be absolutely ridiculous to call her a “known liar” for that.

Regardless of your opinion on the situation, we're not stakeholders in this company. We're customers, paying a subscription fee. Patreon encourages users to feel ownership, but that's just marketing. You're buying a thing.

I've wrestled with this a bit over the last few days - having the official statement helped to crystalise things a little. My current position is that while Adam may have been the figurehead for NRB, it's definitely not a one-man show, and it doesn't seem fair to penalise the other participants because of the alleged wrongdoings of one person. I may review my decision once the investigation is concluded, and I respect people's right to choose whether or not to financially support this channel, whether through Patreon, Twitch or YouTube views. But for now, I will continue paying each month to support the other talented members of NRB. (as an aside, if the situation is rectified to the extent that Carley would be happy to return, that would be an excellent outcome. She's been a real asset to the channel)

Feeling pretty similar about it. I only found No Rolls Barred because i thought "What is Adam Blampied doing these days". I was watching WCW at the time it happened, i had seen his video a few months after that but stopped following the situation. Was pretty glad to see that he had apparently changed for the better when i looked him up in 2021, so its very disappointing that there are allegations like this again. Personally, i will keep my Patreon membership for next month, then decide if i cancel or not after that. Not entirely based on the outcome (unless the allegations are proven to be true, then i would only keep it without Adam) but how its handled overall

Sorry? You think 90% of the world ask people they work with for nudes? I'm not sure what world you're living in. It absolutely is inappropriate behaviour especially given they initially refused but he pushed the issue. Could easily fall into quid pro quo sexual harassment or hostile work environment sexual harassment. Even if it didn't rise to that level a company is well within its rights to let you go simply for endangering their brand reputation.

I really like Ken RB, but I think what made it hard to follow for me was that the script in the description wasn't up to date for the second one, at least when I watched it. So I'd check the character sheet and the character would be totally different to the script they were playing.

My personal theory is that both this and BotC were recorded before all this Adam stuff came out and that whilst they were able to re-record this they couldn’t organise getting like 10 or 12 players and the storytellers together to re-record BotC this month which is why they released this early for patreon to fill the gap.

For Communopoly, they spoke about recording it on last months podcast and it sounded like Adam was already out (and did not appear on the podcast where they discussed recording it). That placed the recording around early July. I do think that's likely the issue with BotC for this month, keeping in mind how many of the usual suspects are also at Fringe.
