NRB Plays The King's Dilemma | Episode 2 - PATREON EXCLUSIVE (Patreon)

Hail to the NeRBs!

We have convened the King's council once again in order to debate and debase ourselves over the issues that truly matter: Why is the wheat grey? What is a Woodhog? And in what manner should we kill House Rules? Our campaign continues as our five ignoble houses vie wage a war of words in order to secure their own legacy. 

Just to reiterate a couple of things: SPOILER ALERT! This is a narrative focussed game so if you have any intention of playing your own campaign of King's Dilemma then think carefully before you watch! Also, The King's Dilemma also poses some serious moral and ethical quandaries for the players to debate while roleplaying as their houses, neither the players nor the game itself endorse subject matters raised here.

Cool I enjoyed the first one. I watched the NRB Twitch VOD on YouTube (apparently I'm the only one that does) and Holly had mentioned filming this and Nemesis Lockdown for Patreon. I take it Nemesis will be next week?

I'm pretty sure they said it is exclusive and only episode 1 is on YouTube presumably to gain more members here.

One positive that's come out of the Summer, is Laurie signing the bottom of the posts. It feels more personal and connected just to see "announcement. signed name". It just feels more.. connected? Thank you :)

This is so much fun. I like how their playstyle changed. Felt like there was a whole lot more bribing in the episode, at least when it came to the moderator vote. Seeing how the scoring is so dependent on the extremes, I wonder if they are going to get less concerned with a balanced kingdom and instead just let it go off the rails in all different ways. Looking forward to the next episode already. Thanks NRB!

I'm wondering too, I know Pi stepped back during the Adam drama (and fair enough) but it's the main reason I'm a patron. Surely at least the in person Kickstarter series will come, people paid a lot of money for those...

You are miscalculating The Extremist. You're supposed to count the rows between the farthest apart counters 'including the extremes'. It says it in the text and shows you in the picture on the card. Holly should have scored 13, not 12. This would have made her joint first with Ken, with a score of 19, in the final total.

My hope is that Clocktower will resume eventually and that this is not a replacement, but a separate project testing out whether a legacy game series is practical. I doubt even NRB know if/when TPI will lend Ben to them in the future, though of course it is totally possible to run it with a different ST.

TPI still seems to be working with the crew. Jon and his company (Treehouse, he runs this with his wife) will be organizing an in Clocktower event in November. A lot of the NRB crew will be there and also Ben and Reggie Neeson from TPI. So I expect clocktower to return at some point and definitely have full faith they still do the studio Clocktower video's from Kickstarter.

The last clocktower video was in July, the 2 video thing was delayed due to editting reasons (ostensibly) and that's the last we've heard of it since. No mention of any ETA or anything so presumably it's just been quietly shelved in the hopes we'd forget and this is replacing it going forward. Which is fine, and all, but it'd better if it was made explicit and not just the implication due to a complete deliberate lack of basic communication

This was delicious, as was the first episode. This could be a controversial opinion, but if Legacy/Campaign/generally heavier games were to replace the Blood on the Clocktower games (barring the second season of the in-person games, people paid good money for it and they should get what they paid for), I'd be perfectly happy.

Well done. Though I do agree that Sullivan got wrecked in this episode, but it seems the Council has divided between Codens and Tyrill on one side, and Dualak and Solad on the other (Natar sits alone on the fence) in both playthroughs. I'm amazed no one took the other agenda, because dear lord they would've wrecked shop.

I'm just stopping by to say I'm saving up the eps until my Chistmas break, so no viewing for a while (not that my single view would make much statistical difference, but I can see why other people might not watch the exclusive eps straight away) - but that these were still very much the reason I subscribed to the patreon and I'm super hyped! I'm on a tight budget as a student, but you guys have given me and my housemates so many laughs and I wanted to help out in any way I can; and long-time content like this is so rare I realised I HAD to patron you to support it.

Dom as an autocrat would be hilarious cause I imagine him just playing this game with literal puppets while he’s the king. And when he needs others to vote he just puts on the puppets and they agree with him. I’d watch that insanity play out.
