Dear PatronsI hope this finds you and your loved ones well. Here's a quick check-in to let you know what we've been up to in May!

1. Hard-core familying: I promised Luca and Juno I would take a break after the election so we could hang out; and as you can see, we've made a good start on that—reading books (and learning to read), demolishing ice-creams, fixing fences, making music, going on outings....2. I've also made a start on the task of upgrading our studio, something I've had to put off for the past couple of years. This will probably take me the best part of June to finish, but it's something I can't put off any longer (some of my gear is practically obsolete)3. I've been taking this break as an opportunity to think and talk with people about what new directions and approaches to take in Season 4. Coz I know once we get back into production mode, it can be hard to find the time and space for this. (Thank you to everyone who shared suggestions in the comments of my last post).4. And in between all this, I've been sorting through our footage and (slowly) putting together the behind-the-scenes and blooper reel for our Season 3 wrap-up video. I was planning to have published said video by the end of May, but then...On May 28, our government approved the extension of the massive North West Shelf gas project out to 2070, a big fuck-you to just about everyone—Australian tax-payers, Indigenous people, our Pacific neighbours, and future generations. Which inspired me to go back and add a section in the video about this and why I really want to focus more on covering climate and environment policies going forward. So in case you were wondering, that's why I didn't publish the wrap-up video in May. (And if you weren't wondering, well... now you know anyway :)I'm finally editing the video now, and am excited to share it with all of you—hopefully in the coming days. *(Unless our government approves another new massive gas field in the next few days).Till then, take care!Giordano

Frozen Stoli ,(Dirty of course), and mushrooms so you can better interpret the world of Trumpie for the rest of us! Yes we are there! Lol

Well deserved break and time with your family and time to reflect are so important. Trust the shit lite government to get so much power they have decided to be the shit government and throw a spanner in the works. Very disappointing about the Woodside decision. Looking forward to seeing what you come up with when you are ready. Thank you for your commitment and work. We do need you!

Donny TACO and his crime family are the biggest threat our world has seen in a century. The Democrats, our Shit Lite party, seems to think the mid term elections in 2026 will change the direction the Christofascists are headed. We shall see. I’m not optimistic. We need to convince the leaders of democracies that they need to shun the 🍊 anus, boycott all things USA, support Ukraine, call out and condemn the genocide in Gaza and stop global warming!

Glad you had a break. Thank you for deciding to focus on environment 💚 (unlike Albo) 🙈. We’re currently in Tassie and the folks here, lovely as they are, on the whole, don’t appreciate just how badly they’re being sold out (and us and the planet with them). They’re PAYING for the government to destroy their special places, plants, forests, birds and animals. From industrial salmon farming to destruction of ancient forests through to stitched up stadiums. Heartbreaking. You’d think they’d learn from our sad examples on the mainland. 🤷‍♀️

I would like to see you cover Jacinta Allen's Emergency Services tax and the huge backlash by farmers and CFA volunteers. I'd also like to see more relevant Aussie content. We know your resources are limited and so all the ads about overseas issues should be secondary to showcasing Australian ShtFckery because I believe your mission is keeping us informed about Australia government issues.

Oh and you could probably write a whole season about Trump, Musk and the US DOGE

As I commented on Parents for Climate's successful case against EnergyAustralia's carbon neutral claims: 'EnergyAustralia finally admitted “that the harms caused by burning coal and gas cannot be undone or prevented by buying offsets or using carbon credits to claim to offset the energy and somehow make it carbon neutral.” So, how does this effect companies supposedly being regulated to reduce their emissions under the Safeguard Mechanism (SM)? Same problem, isn’t it? Are they not also relying on offsets and carbon credits, as well as equally ineffectual CCUS? Since fugitive emissions are difficult to capture, how will Woodside, for example, meet their obligations under the NGER Act SM? Or will Murray Watt exempt them from the SM as well?' Although they are extending the Burrup Hub's life, they are not yet opening new fields to exploit. The WA EPA does recognise that GHG emissions drive global heating/climate change, which is why the WA government passed a law exempting Woodside from EIA under their EPA and the EPBC Act, relying on the Safeguard Mechanism to reduce their emissions, but NOPSEMA doesn't: it only has to consider impacts on the local ocean environment. This is why NOPSEMA and the NT government has just approved Santos Barossa, another "carbon bomb" project, which, like Empire Energy Beetaloo (yet another), will send gas to the Middle Arm hub. (I asked why Barossa was not referred to Tanya Plibersek but received no reply.) Unless the Federal government includes a 'climate trigger' in the EPBC Act AND refers all off-shore gas mining for climate EIA, all climate and environmental actions groups are going to have to band together, and muscle up funds, to sue the government and/or mining companies for the billions of dollars of damages and loss of life in Australia (at least 5% of the world damages) that these approved carbon bomb projects are going to cause.

Wonderful pics. of the children. Please spend as much time as you can with them at their youngest, the opportunities grow fewer with the years and each is unique. Treasure them. Good luck and courage in the year(s) ahead - I'd been expecting minority government but, as Rrrobbie wrote, things "...things gang aft agley.." but not in a fever dream did I imagine what we now have. Enjoy.

Glad to see you’ve taken some time to help Luca and Juno feel the bliss of being alive. Their generation does not deserve the havoc we’re wreaking upon them with the climate crisis. Can’t wait for your next Honest Ad!

In order to best fight the good fight we all need rest and diversion along the way. Enjoy the time and productive projects!

Great to see the enjoyable family time. Love more on whistleblowers, the failed PID Act drafted by Dreyfus under Rudd and exploited to convict David, Richard and witness K etc. Also the NACC scam. No one will risk speaking out again! Too much to loose. Great to see a focus on Climate, climate catastrophe and fossil fuel, forest destruction, gas scams etc Dark Money and the false and misleading propaganda from Labor, LNP etc especially Atlas Network tentacles ( Advance, Better Australia for Oligarchy) https://www.abc.net.au/news/2025-04-24/atlas-network-think-tanks-active-in-australia-and-new-zealand/104788732 https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=pfbid0BfvMUgQWJgkuy92spiAz4FickaZX5NbsZnSkNMghUzge6ZKpiHTSPPe7LkuZ1vRKl&id=100062990966876 https://youtu.be/DHkwa_rrM4w?si=UkisTaNOS-ecxJzH

The Dark Side is on the march. The forces of evil are lashing out everywhere. You will have plenty to report on when you return.
