Dear Patrons,Here is the preview of our next Honest Government Ad, in which we turn our attention to how the Federal Government has well and truly embarked down a path of creeping authoritarianism - from prosecuting whitsleblowers and raiding journalists to threatening to outlaw climate protests and boycotts - all packaged in a shiny bullshit slogan: "Quiet Australians".So I thought we could do with some honesty from our Government about where we're inevitably heading with all this....This HGA features both of our awesome actors, Zoë and Ellen.  If you get a chance to listen to it, please lmk what you think - you're the first ones to ever hear our episodes, so it's really good to get your feedback. In other news: we just added three new designs to our store - Sh!tf*ckery, Cool & Normal, and also an official The Juice Media tshirt: https://shop.thejuicemedia.comHere's a 10% discount token to thank you for being our awesome Patrons: JUICY2019I'll be back in a couple of days with the video.Until then, have a great rest of the weekend!Giordano

Willa Cartwright

Hey Giordano, Superb. Makes the point that needs to be made! Thank you.

J.p. Kelly

Amazing! A magnum opus of all the shitfuckery that has gone on in 2019. Thank you!!

Hot30 with Matty

Brilliant, exactly how I feel, I wonder how long till the hot 30 studio gets raided.....this will be in the show fri 6 december , broadcast on 40 aus stations and a few overseas. Great work team...

thejuicemedia

Thank you Willa! ps. I hope you received your tshirt reward?!

thejuicemedia

Thanks J.p. - sadly there's more shitfuckery than that, but let's just say I tried to capture the most egregious cases!

thejuicemedia

PS I forgot to say: that last line is a reference to the PM's infamous incident at Engadine Maccas - it will make more sense with the visuals

Peter Todd

I guessed that from listening, had the mental image and all :)

Dr Krieger

Hello darkness my old friend!!! Thank goodness we have JuiceMedia providing some light! Keep up the excellent work! Cheers

Alpheus Williams

Fascism loves Silence. Looking forward to seeing this plastered all over Social Media. Satire is generally fixed in hyperbole...but there is no exaggeration here ... it's getting too close for comfort.

Keerti Dalley

It was a bit late, but prime muncher tries to influence a police chief in investigation of one of his cronies, would have been good.

Keerti Dalley

love these vids where the two ladies work together.

Colin Briggs

Funny and Tragically all true!

Brett DAVIS

I would really like to point out that you mis-spelled "whistleblowers" in the text above, but I probably should remain quiet ...

Kim Hillier

Shouldn’t you be in class studying how to be quiet?

Deborah Heaysman

Thank you for providing light and humour in such dark times!!

Lucas

Another excellent summary of the state of the nation. Keep it up.

Bob Kavanagh

Brilliant as always but the reality of it is getting increasingly scary!!

SALLY WARMINGTON

Hey this is excellent work! I love how you have linked all these examples of dangerous repression together and show why we have to make a big noise about all this shitfuckery. Ordering my "Authoritarian government - cool and normal" t shirt now!

thejuicemedia

Thanks Sally. Yes! In isolation, each of these examples might appear innocuous. That's why I wanted to link them together to help people see the bigger picture that's forming. I hope you enjoy the tshirt!

thejuicemedia

Haha you almost had me there for a second - I was like, damn I'll need to check the level... Ah!

thejuicemedia

Thanks Trisha. (Also, I thought you might like to know that I've now been vegan for 3 weeks - early days, I know, but we're slowly making some big changes here in the background - with help from our actor Ellen who has been vegan for 10 years) <3

Ruth

A perfect media kit for an honest journalist..can we find one?

Amanda Smith

I am grateful you've included those who have ended their lives, this is important as Ausgov both sides are avoiding suicide talk unless its for political gain, and combined, robodebt, cdc and cdp have killed over 2060 people. Had those people died from terror attack it would be national headlines..but sadly democide on the poor is still "cool and normal". Love your work.

Trish Lutruwita Tasmania

Hi Giordano. That's fantastic news. <3 I don't know if Ellen is familiar with the following site, but if you wish to find out some excellent science backed nutrition information in easy to digest short 2 minute videos, check out http://www.NutritionFacts.org by Dr. Michael Greger. He's also written a book "How Not To Die" which was an NYT best seller. It's excellent. I have a comprehensive vegan resource as well in podcast form : http://www.HowToGoVegan.org (not sure if I'm able to post the actual websites here) which addresses ethical issues. If I may suggest it's important for vegans to take B12 supplements as all the natural B12 (its a microbe) has been taken from the water and from plants (dirt on plants) due to industrialised processes. It's recommended to take just a simple over the counter B12 at 2500 units per week, otherwise if vegans do not supplement, homocysteine levels rise in the blood, making the blood viscous and can then lead to stroke and heart attacks. So it's important for vegans to supplement . :) Anyway, if you check out Nutrition Facts it has heaps of great information on it. Anyway, great news. Thanks for sharing it. <3

James

Their own party name is a lie. They aren't liberal one bit.

Garry Travers

Bloody brilliant as per usual, I just wish this could be played on commercial TV, I'd pitch in a bit to help fund the ad.

Rob Dexter

My thoughts exactly, except in how much of Australia's money they funnel into their own pockets, of course!

Nick Rose

Great, love this and all your work. A question: is Julian Assange referenced at all in the video? I didn't hear mention of him in the script. You did a great piece on him earlier in the year - and in terms of the theme of creeping authoritarianism, whistleblowers, suppression of freedom of the press etc., his case as you know is extreme. You would have seen the recent letter from the 60 doctors demanding his immediate release on grounds of the serious deterioration of the state of his health, and also the UN Special Rapporteur finding that his prolonged indefinite and solitary detention amounts to torture. So much material for you to continue skewer the Australian, British and American governments - can't stress how important this is.

James

They find a way to get money to their rich mates who then give them a cushy job once they retire from politics.

thejuicemedia

Thanks for the tips Trisha! I did know about the B12, will make sure to get onto that!

thejuicemedia

Thanks Nick. And yes, Assange is referenced in the visuals with the line "or thrown in jail to please our masters", along with the headline about his state of health. We're planning to make another HGA early next year when his first extradition hearing will take place.

Willa Cartwright

It did, thank you, Giordano. It's perfect! Love it! :-D

Moz in Oz

I am kind of hoping for a "How good is global warming?" shirt. And the whole 'quiet Australians' thing comes across to me as "we only like the citizens who STFU and do what they're told", to which I can only say "baaaa".

Andrew Warr

"Hello darkness my old friend" just brilliant. Any chance of "A whiter shade of pale"?

Ellejoy W

Bloody good job. In regards to the latest fluff piece on Mrs Morrison, any reference to how good deflection is?

Nick

"A quiet ABC where women don't swear". Presumably this is the Q&A with Mona Eltahawy? I personally cringed at that ep knowing full well what the majority response would be, which was not progressive at all. It wasn't about the swearing, just the general presentation and lack of any objective opposition. It makes me feel bad for feminism and LGBTQ - who are being ridiculed a lot from these things nowadays. Anyways... the rest sounds great (:

thejuicemedia

Yes, that's the reference. Funny you should say that: we actually we decided to take that line out because as you say it wasn't about swearing, and upon reflection it felt like it might distract from the overall message about the govt's drift towards authoritarianism. Thanks for the good feedback, Squids!

Ellejoy W

ABC Ballarat has reported that an "anarchist" group has burned the PM in effigy to mark the anniversary of the Eureka Stockade. I'm conflicted. I agree with the right to protest, but I don't know if my feelings are so strong that I could participate in burning an effigy. Could the Juice Media patrons provide their views and hopefully I won't be such a fence sitter as a result :)

thejuicemedia

I feel like we're on the same page, Lynda! Personally, I wouldn't participate in such a protest either. But I am much more concerned at the thought of living in a society in which such a protest might be outlawed, than by the protest itself

Moz in Oz

My take is that the PM is quite happily burning other Autralians so bring it on. "Don't mind the bushfires, watch the cricket", and "throw some more coal on the barbie" are not appropriate responses to global heating, let alone catastrophic bushfires.
