Dear Patrons,Here is Episode 10 of the Juice Media Podcast - the companion to our latest Honest Government Ad about the Coronavirus.Which, by the way, has gone more viral than any video I've ever made in my life, by far:4.2M Youtube views3.1M FB views2.8M Twitter viewsThat's 10M+ views. In ONE week! Thanks to your support, we have helped to massively raise awareness of the dangers Covid19 poses to society and healthcare systems around the world, and the urgent need to "flatten the curve".And yet, here in Australia, not enough people are taking this seriously. Partly because our Government isn't, either. We just saw hundreds gathering on Bondi beach, and feverish people disembarking a cruise ship in Sydney.  Restaurants and cafes are still full.In about 14 days we'll be seeing the results of this manifesting in broad daylight, and I am scared to think the toll this will take on our healthcare workers, doctors, our teachers, cleaners, seniors... And remember: Covid19 can, and does, kill younger adults too. That's why for this podcast I decided to invite on the show someone who has been helping to raise the alarm about what's happening in Australia: Dr Norman Swan, physician and veteran broadcaster with the ABC.Coz if there's one thing we need right now, it is clear, accurate and sensible advice - just what our Government is not providing.   I urge you to listen to what Dr Swan says and share it widely with your networks. We discuss the dangers we face, but also some of the potential positive outcomes from all this. This is also relevant for those of you in other parts of the world - especially the USA where the curve is heading off the charts. It's going to be a rough time ahead so lets stay in touch - remember: spatial distancing, not social distincing!   I would love to hear from you: how are you coping with it all? Are you out and about, or in "iso" mode? What about your children? We've basically been in isolation at home for the past 5 days, and are doing lots of gardening to keep ourselves sane. There is so much more to say, but I'll save it for our next Honest Government Ad.Meanwhile, tune in daily to Norman Swan's "Coronacast" podcast on ABC Radio and follow him on Twitter here to keep up to date.  Thank you for making this work possible.Take care, stay safe - and don't touch your face!Giordano xo

In Oregon USA most everyone clearly got the message to stay at home. Our governor closed all restaurants and bars. Restaurants can keep kitchens open for pickup or delivery. My favorite restaurant simply closed in consideration of their employees health. Our governor says she is compiling a list of essential businesses that can remain operating so I expect to have Oregon follow California's lead by having Oregon use a state-wide closure order I predict to hear before Monday.

Excellent work. Important work. Kudos to you Giordano and your excellent staff for producing this. Kudos Dr Swan. And thank you so much for all you do. I've done my best to share this as far and wide as possible.

Hey Giordano, it’s wonderful that so many people have seen your latest HGA which will certainly help them to act responsibly and save lives. I’m in hospital recovering from orthopaedic surgery, will be home from rehab in a few days and then staying put. I’m over 60 and on immune suppression for rheumatoid arthritis so I guess I’m in a risk group. As a retired doctor I’m very concerned about what’s facing our health services in the weeks to come. You’re playing an important part along with others, notably the ABC and Norman Swan, in keeping us informed - which is absolutely vital right now. Stay safe and well!

Peter Todd

A great and grounded podcast - as always, thanks team. Good to see that you brought up the similarities between action on the virus and action on the climate catastrophe. It's a very obvious pattern to me and hopefully others will start seeing this too.

George

I am amazed people send me links to the video before I can share it! Thank you for an exceptionally helpful and informative podcast.. your podcasts and videos are one thing I hope does go viral. If people are not concerned, then we've not done our jobs well enough. People need not panic. There's plenty of food and, over time, manufacturing capacity on all essentials, will meet steady demand. However, the private sector Just in Time philosophy to maximise profit is not fit for purpose in an escalating National Emergency. Good hygiene, hand washing, social distancing and showing respect for the vulnerable, and only using/buying what you need for the week will help everyone. Unnecessary Panic is the greatest virus affecting most today. It has to stop... be present... listen to the earth breathe. Listen to expert scientists and less to politicians and their rumours online. A vaccine may be a year away, and we hope no company will put profit ahead of the wellbeing of the whole of humanity. Profiteering off the emergency during the next year should be penalised. Thank you Guys, you're a light in the distance highlighting hope with truth and not rumour. Best to all G

Hello Giordano and team, What wonderful work you are doing. I'm proud to have been one of your early patrons. Also proud that the first radio interview I did after the publication o Romulus, My Father in 1997 was with Norman Swan, though I don't recall it being on The Health Report. Again, heartfelt congratulations.

Ian Ossher

Excellent podcast Giordano, thank you. Congrats too on the number of views for your latest honest govt ads. Pity we don’t have the clarity of Norman swan guiding the nation with firm directions. We have to wade through the swamp that is #ScottyFromMarketing

Sounds like Oregon has it's shit together tight! Nice

thejuicemedia

Thank you Alpheus! I am so glad to see that at least NSW and Victoria are moving now to close schools. Take care!

thejuicemedia

We all feel like it has been an honour to be able to help raise awareness. Sally, please take care of yourself! I too am very concerned for our nurses, doctors and healthcare workers.

thejuicemedia

Thank you Peter! And yes, I totally agree about it being an obvious patterm, it's so clear it's almost uncanny. And tempting to assign agency to the planet to get us to get the &^%@#& message!

thejuicemedia

Haha that made me laugh, it's great in a way that the videos are being shared to fast. You're very welcome, George, and as always a huge thank you for being one of our top Patrons - so very much appreciated.

Always a pleasure to see you in the comments Raimond, thank you for your encouraging words - it is of course an honour to have you as one of our early Patrons! And wow about your interview with Norman Swan - he sure has done a lot of incredible work at the ABC. (I just learned that he started the RN breakfast show and hired Phillip Adams!) Pls take care in the weeks ahead, Giordano
