Dear PatronsHere is the latest Honest Government Ad you've helped us to produce - it's an epic one. We hope you like it.Thank you so much for supporting our work. We never take it for granted - especially in these financially uncertain times, whilst the machine has been temporarily turned "off", I'm truly grateful to everyone who is able to stick with us and keep us going. As I said when I shared the preview a few days ago, I wanted this HGA to paint a bigger picture of what's happening, and tap into a deeper sentiment about this historic moment we're passing through.Don't worry, the Australien Government will be back - it won't be long before they deserve our full attention again. But I wanted to make the most of the global situation we're in to really test drive this new generic HGA - "The Government™" - voice which we've started to use.I've always wanted to make more HGAs for international governments, but was held back by some of the practical challenges. So it was liberating to realise that we don't always need to worry about accents and costumes etc. We can just switch from one government the other. Which is why in this video we were able to impersonate 10 of them :D(This might seem totally obvious, but it was a bit of an epiphany for me!)This is pretty exciting: switching quickly from one government/country to another allows us to paint a picture that connects local/national issues to big/global contexts. Which is a powerful way of creating *perspective*. It's harder to write for, as it forces me to think of frameworks that apply globally... But it's worth the effort!Anyway, I'm just nerding out here sharing some thoughts out loud with you all...I guess the point I'm trying to make is that there's a whole new dimension to the Honest Government Ads concept that I'm discovering, and I'm looking forward to getting better at writing future episodes in this form. Thanks, everyone who posted their comments and feedback on the preview. I hope some things make more sense now that they're accompanied by the visuals. As you can see, in the end we went with "Authorised by the machine" - which just felt right.I'll catch you soon for the podcast companion to this episode!Giordano & teamVideo links:Youtube videoFacebook videoTwitter video

I appreciated the all-inclusive "Government" being the target of the HGA's satire. While I felt sad Zoe wasn't able to hammer "the machine" at the end, I think it was in fine form.

Craig Kirkpatrick

This was so well done. Congratulations on a masterpiece.

Alpheus Williams

As always thanks for all you do and what you do...if only ... if only we could get this message out more....

Chris Pitts

more shitfuckery observation, brilliant.

Deb Clark

Fabulous. I’m going to make my teens watch this. Possibly more educational than, well, anything else really

Pauline

Bravo. Bravo. Moved me to tears.

SALLY WARMINGTON

Hey this is excellent Giordano and I love the credits at the end as well. So timely to remind us of that other curve we really have got to flatten. If only we could smash that machine ... great ending!

Keith Jackson AM

Nailed it Giordano & Co. Wonderful positioning of the fork in the road coronavirus presents. If only we had the leadership to take advantage of it.

Opportunistic Pigeon

that "bDOOOOM" at the end really got me. I guess it was always obvious The Machine was a Mac. I mean, think about Garden of Eden. An Apple computer. 1 byte of memory. Then everything crashed.

Brighde Reed

Who edits these! They are so amazing!

Beryl Francis

Great stuff. Loved the end which had me in tears.

thejuicemedia

Heh I've gotten better at editing over the years ;)

thejuicemedia

Thanks Alpheus, it's getting out there more and more :)

thejuicemedia

Glad you like this different format Zach. And yeah, it took a lot of restraint not to smash the machine. But hey, there are still future episodes and opportunities...

Kim Hillier

Lucky this is Australia or Zoe and Ellen would have been poached already. Their nuanced performances really add to the LOL moments.

Mattezhion Zane Corgan Campbell

I can only hit the like button once. I suppose I’ll have to show my approval by increasing my contribution.

Petri Hietanen

This was absolutely brilliant! Great work Giordano@team!

Brighde Reed

It's unbelievable! Well done! I just spend your videos shaking my head. a. at the content and b. at the quality!

thejuicemedia

That is a wonderful way to show your approval - thank you so much :)

Connie Rock

The best update yet. 🤣🤣 🤣🤣🤣

Hank Linderman

Just spectacular! I am the Democratic nominee for Congress in Kentucky's 2nd District, your videos are inspiring, and you have mastered the art of making your points in verrry few syllables. Best... Hank Linderman

Legit cannot believe that the first world was underprepared for this. It’s so insane it makes me punchy. I mean, who even wants a leader that has never read post-apocalyptic fiction? If the saying is ‘never waste a good crisis,’ I don’t even know who to turn to to support in looking for ways to reset The Machine.

Talib Yousry

one of your best - funny and very very poignant at the end - keep it up!

Thank you Hank! Good luck in your district election!

I much prefer the global perspective, Giordano. Aussie politics, while clearly full of shitfuckery, is pretty boring and inconsequential.
