Dear PatronsHere is the preview for the new Honest Government Ad, which if all goes well, I'll publish tomorrow.I've avoided making a video about our Government's handling of the pandemic for the past year - for a couple of reasons, one being that so much is already being said about it. But now that the situation is worsening in NSW, I think it's important to help amplify a few critical messages that need to be heard - about airborne transmission, the failure of the current hotel quarantine system; and our federal Government's strategy of blaming everyone else - State Premiers, limo drivers, you - for what's currently happening.If you have any good suggestions for the Authorised by message please let me know in the comments!I'll catch you tomorrow with the video.Giordano

Oz is not alone - just look at the drivel that drools out of the mouth of Emperor de Santis The First of Florida. He might even be the model your leaders turn to for inspiration - a many totally devoid of any facts plus a solid belief in faith, just not faith based on science. If his State doesn't get submerged by the ocean he doesn't believe is rising, or succumb to storms he probably believes are just the wrath of some type of god, he will bury his State (and as many others as he can) in bodies.

Your message is key and I hope (like your warning not to turn the machine back on), it gets wide, general exposure and viral (pun fully intended) promotion! I run a company based in Europe, and to your point, it only takes one COVID positive person to really make that difference you don't want: thanks to one infected person right at the start of this viral roller coaster ride, 50% of my company were infected. Fortunately, all survived and none appear to have long COVID. Unfortunately, that is not true of some of their relatives ... You have to track down and isolate everyone - and as the CDC just realized, which those of us paying close attention to the stats had already concluded, the vaccinated can be very effected carriers - particularly when you stupidly think telling the vaccinated they don't need to wear masks or socially distance in the hopes that that reward will encourage the unvaccinated to get vaccinated. What?? That's a perfect example of government "thinking" ... of course it backfired and now you have the unvaccinated infecting each other and infecting the vaccinated, turning them into carriers of the virus. Perfect walking dead film plot, of course. Just remember: herd immunity is really a convenient fiction for politicians but herd stupidity is a rampant reality! Keep up the stellar GREAT WORK!!!

Great work as always. Something not mentioned that one hears about a lot in the States is that the Delta variant is much more dangerous because it’s significantly more contagious and has a much higher viral load (a term rich in comedic possibilities). Worse, even vaccinated people can apparently become infected and spread it, though they probably won’t die, while the unvaccinated are much more likely to. Fun! It’s probably too late to add in blurbs along these lines, but maybe for a future message. Since sadly, this crap is gonna be with us for a long time. Thanks for your great work.

oh wow, I was really nervous about listening to this to be honest (pun intended but I truly was). I stayed an extra 2 months in Victoria in may because qld would have forced us to hotel quarantine despite coming from rural western Vic where we were far far safer than we would have been in the Brisbane Mercure! David J Bowering: "Quarantining the well" is absolutely something that's been done throughout recorded history. The very word comes from a practice in 14th century Venice of making all ships (not just those whose passengers/crew showed symptoms) remain isolated in port for forty days before anyone was allowed ashore, in case they developed symptoms of the Black Death during that period. The practice of "quarantining the well" was used centuries before the word "quarantena" was coined in Venice, and will undoubtedly continue do be used as a non-pharmaceutical intervention long into the future - because it works. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions, but not to their own facts.
