Dear PatronsHere is the latest Honest Government Ad that you've helped to make possible. This is our last Honest Government Ad for 2021. I want to thank all of you for supporting The Juice Media this year. We've covered a lot of topics - especially on climate and energy policy. And thanks to you, we've continued to remain 100% independent. This HGA is also our first episode in what will be our coverage of the federal election that will happen here in Australia in the first half of 2022.It's an absolutely crucial election because we can't afford another 3 years of climate shitfuckery like the world witnessed from this government at the COP26 summit in Glasgow. And whilst their climate policies differ in some regards, neither major party is going to this election with a science-based emission target or a policy to phase out coal and gas this decade - which is what the science says must happen.Which is why the key to ending this shit-stained chapter of climate inaction in Australia is to elect a Crossbench full of Not-Shit MPs who will force both major parties to adopt Not-Shit climate policies, if they want to govern.(“Not-Shit Candidate” is my short-hand for a party or Indy candidate with science-based policies for responding to the climate crisis and who doesn't take money from coal & gas companies - which unfortunately excludes both major parties. There are of course also Shit Indys and 3rd parties - so it's important to check their policies before you give them your vote!)The Morrison Government is shitting itself about all the Not-Shit candidates running in safe conservative/Liberal seats coz they know voters there won't elect a Labor/Greens candidate, but they might elect a small-l liberal Not-Shit Independent (as they did in Indi, Mayo and Warringah). And its strategy for dealing with this threat, will be to run fear-campaigns about Indys, hung parliaments and minority governments - with help from uncle Rupert.Which is why it's so important that more people understand what these things are in the lead up to this election. And it's why we made this Honest Government Ad.One of the things I love doing with this series is helping to improve literacy and understanding about legislation, policies and how government and elections work. So I've been working on this video for several months, trying to figure out the best possible way of explaining these rather complicated concepts to people ahead of the election. There is of course much more to say about this HGA, but I'll leave it for the podcast - which I'll share with you here shortly. (Ellen and I are currently editing it!)Meanwhile, if you haven't seen our Honest Government Ad about Preferential Voting, I encourage you to check it out. The Hung Parliament HGA acts as its sequel - explaining what happens when Not-Shit candidates are elected to the crossbench.I hope you enjoy this Honest Government Ad, and I'll catch you soon with the podcast for a more in-depth chat about well hung parliaments, Not-Shit candidates, and more...Till then, take careGiordanoLinks to the video:Watch on YouTubeWatch on FacebookWatch on TwitterWatch on Insta

Great! Can you add Jo Dyer for Boothby too? It’d be awesome to see the Libs lose that seat.

Peter Todd

Well done guys. With Showbag out and about demonising the independents, a balanced response is definitely appreciated.

Thanks and well done Juice crew through what has been another crazy year. So all the best for a break and some good times for all. No doubt a lot of shitfuckery will be on the cards leading up an election that will need some advertising amidst all the election marketing we will also no doubt need to endure. Keeping the focus on science based targets for climate is great, but housing and some other issues are also such massive issues for many. Even without a firey summer it already feels like storm and tempest will keep happening to keep people's mind on the climate issue as well. Also the opportunities we are missing out on by not acting on a rapid transition and dealing with some of these problems like housing.

Thumbs up

Ray

I wouldn't be surprised if a hung parliament led to a minority government - led by one sh** party and backed by the most 'flexible' part of the other one.

Mark D Larsen

Truly excellent! Zoë 😘 and Ellen 😘 outdid themselves on this one. Unless my ears are deceiving me, there are segments when we're hearing their own voices, in addition to Lucy's. Gawd, I hope Oz ends up with a well hung parliament, to put up obstacles to the shitfuckery and shitlitefuckery of the tiny pricks.

Robert Bismuth

Great work! Love the interplay and the "forgetful" moments of accidentally being "honest". So many democracies have the same shit party system going on. To your point about the minority coalition MPs who really are in control: the same is true for the US Senate currently ... the actual leader of the US isn't Biden, its the senior senator from West Virginia who is a member of one of the two main parties (the one supposedly with the majority) but votes with the other party more often than note - particularly on environmental matters as his state is, hmmm. a coal mining state of course. The US House is not that relevant if you can't get a majority in the Senate. Wait, maybe he's from Oz?? ;-)

Inconcision

The eyebrow raise at 1m58s totally makes this video.

May 2022 continue as the year women stand up to be counted against entitled male privilege in parliament. Bravo to Simon Holmes a Court and Cathy McGowen with the Climate 200 model of true electoral representation. Zali Steggall and her team have proven this a fine democratic way to advance Australia. Ellen and Lucy are obviously having a ball creating this video, presenting wisdom in the most charming manner. Great Christmas hope and cheer from JM. Gratitude and best wishes for the season and future Giordano and friends ❤️

Anthony Hortin

Love this one. This will be really useful to explain to people that it's not a "wasted vote". I hope you all enjoy your well deserved break over Christmas and the New Year.

Opportunistic Pigeon

Even a shit indy is better than a major party candidate, because we learn that that electorate is rotten and shit, rather than learning that most of the country is brain-dead and just votes alongside the Murdochsphere, or by whatever multimillion dollar billboard they see is. If the majority of parliament was indis, even if a chunk of them were shit indis, would still compromise and negociate more than a room of two teams looking for zero sum game solutions. Please make an HGA about the Murdochsphere and how it chokes our economy AND politics, especially BEFORE they start the mud flinging this election (so it can be a *prediction* and not a *retaliation*!)

thejuicemedia

Thanks Robert! (Are you talking about Joe Manchin?)

thejuicemedia

Ellen has very expressive eyebrows i don't know how she does it!

thejuicemedia

Very well spotted Mark! This is the first HGA where we've had all three voices :)

thejuicemedia

Thanks Peter. I've actually been working on a script about missed opportunities (inspired by Ross Garnaut's book, Superpower) - it's one of the many i have on the slow-cooker.. hopefully it will materialise at some point! All the best to you too for the new year ahead!

Robert Bismuth

That's him ... the other "President Joe".

Scott Tyo

Juice Media at their brilliant best.
