Dear PatronsHere is the preview of our next Honest Government Ad!This is part of our climate shitfuckery series which by now you're familiar with - unpicking each one of the government's strategies for prolonging the fossil-fuel era and making it look like "climate action" (and making us pay for it).Hopefully it's the last one we'll be making for this government (the election is now only weeks away!)But carbon credits and offsets are going to be a focal issue not just for this government, but also others that will (hopefully) replace it. Which is why I've dedicated this HGA to this topic, on the eve of the election. And of course, whichever way the election goes, climate shitfuckery will continue - if not here, certainly in other world governments - so fear not, we'll continue to make these detailed HGAs about climate and energy policy into the future. As long as there is one.I'll be back very soon with the video. Until then, I hope you enjoy the preview - and the weekend too.Giordano

It's amazing how the cheating fossil fools and their pe'trolls play this friggin' shell game yet manage to convince the public that they have integrity. I would say that it makes me sick to my stomach, but… I'm too angry to pay attention to my nausea.

Don't forget the Soil Carbon 'pie in the sky' being run under the banner of Regenerative Agriculture. Unusually high claims of carbon sequestration = Murdochs selling credits to Microsoft.

Yep, I like the ad. But- one suggestion, if I may. The ad gets us all nice and angry, as this issue should do- but it does not tell us what we can do about it. We need a hint as to the best way to release that anger in an effective way. How? By promoting the practice of "FUCK OFF" Voting! The way to do that is by numbering the Sitting MP in your electorate LAST on your Ballot Paper. Do that at each and every election until you get an MP who is actually worth voting back into office at the following election. Sounds too radical for your taste? Poor petals; what we have been doing for decades up to now hasn't exactly been a raging success, has it? So let's do it- FUCK OFF Voting; Put the Sitting Member LAST!

This is one of the reasons tokenised blockchain base carbon tones will be a big plus to prevent double counting and corruption, adoption is slow on this front but it looks promising

John L Smith

Great work again people! Vote Greens first to keep Labor honest (and/or climate action Independents)

Robert Bismuth

Brilliant, as always! And such a tortuous mechanism for carbon creds ... the Oz Gov obviously excels at creating mechanisms for funding nepotism and self reinforcing economics & economic imperialism - and the noteworthy point is that they achieve imperialism not only over those other, smaller and less well off nations you mentioned but also over the people of Oz. Has nobody thought to look behind the green curtain?? Oh, I get it - the curtain simply hangs over a solid wall of BS ... ;-)

Gracjan

Great work!

thejuicemedia

I was going to mention that but it was just too much to fit in! But I'll make a note to talk about this in the podcast! Thanks :)

thejuicemedia

Yeah I can see how this could be a really good application of blockchain ledgers!

Dan Stefanich

Another great blurb that sneaks behind the curtain of obfuscation and breaks down the shitfuckery in an understandable way. Cheers, mates!

Dan Stefanich

...and not in a dry, rambling, dull, preachy way, but in a fun, clear, and engaging way! Brilliant formula!

David Bishton

Industry has gone all in on this carbon credits thing, and so have many governments. It's easy - numbers will be used to cover up for zero meaningful action. Thanks for covering the scam. Corporate accounting tricks will invent as many loopholes as possible, just as with taxes. Governments that fail to understand it should be shitcanned.

Ash Brown

the election has now been called Today, Prime Minister Scott Morrison called the election for 21 May.

Campbell Parker

Carbon credits always made me a bit uneasy but this really helps show how they can be manipulated in the shittiest way - great job! Can't wait to see the final video; good luck for the election..!

John Ellies

Oh God, I need to educate myself and everyone around me. Your videos and podcast seem to be the only place where I can get this type of shitfuckery explained clearly and concisely. Thankyou guys and gals for everything you do.
