Dear PatronsHere is the podcast companion to our latest Honest Government Ad about Canada (which if you missed you can find here!) I am stoked to finally share with you my conversation with renowned scientist, broadcaster and activist David Suzuki, as well as his daughter and fellow-activist Severn Cullis-Suzuki, whom I interviewed during my Canada trip back in April. I hope you enjoy it.Friends, ngl... this has been a crazy month. I had to make an emergency visit to Cape Town to be at my mother's side in what are most likely her final days. Thank you so much to everyone who sent me messages of support and sympathy - they meant more than you will ever realise. Because of this I wasn't able to make another Honest Government Ad before the end of September - my sincere apologies. Thankfully, I think you'll find this podcast episode packs so much useful information and inspiring thoughts from one of our greatest minds in science and environmental activism, that it hope it will tide you over until our next HGA!A little news update about the Podcast:You may have noticed that I've been making fewer episodes of the Juice Media Podcast lately. The main reason for this, is that in-between making the Honest Government Ads, I’ve been making an effort this year to spend more quality time with our kids, Luca and Juno - who are still at that precious age where they love nothing more than hanging out with mum and dad. And I want to be there for them more.

I'll keep making podcasts during this period. But after three years of consistently making a podcast after every Honest Government Ad, I might just do it a bit more sporadically... on special occasions, like this one.

This allows me to keep dedicating my full attention to making great Honest Government Ads on a regular monthly basis. And god knows we have many topics to cover both here in Australia and abroad. And at some point in the near future I will return to a regular schedule for the Juice Media Podcast (and when that happens I’ll be needing a video editor; so if you’re based in Melbourne and keen on the gig, send me a message!)I hope you enjoy this interview. And if you do, please recommend it and the Juice Media Podcast to others. As always, thank you for your continued support of our work - it's what makes all of this possible, and we never take it for granted. I'll catch you very soon with our next Honest Government Ad. Until then, take careGiordano

Hi. Just pointing this out in case it’s a mistake [At some point in the near future I will also be returning to a more regular schedule for the Juice Media Podcast (and when that happens I’ll be needing a video editor;………… so if you’re based …………and keen on the gig, send me a message!)]. Did you mean to say based in a particular location?

John L Smith

Very useful conversation with David and Severn. Thanks very much

thejuicemedia

Oh wow, not sure what happened there! Yeah, it was meant to say "based in Melbourne" Thanks for pointing that out, fixed it now!

thejuicemedia

Thanks Candy I've listened to a little of Joanna Macy, will check out her stuff on localisation!

Totally support your priorities. Of course you have to be there for your mother and I'd rather have quality ads from you than podcast episodes. I know it takes a ton of research and assembly to make each ad.

Without starting a whole new economy and economic world system all your discussions are for naught. Our value system must be greater and more purposeful than wealth acquisition and preservation or the voices of the majority the needs of the planet and general health of the populations will be drowned out. Peter Joseph has “Zeitgeist “ utube pieces if you’re not aware of you need to be in my humble opinion. Keep up the great work and do remember and behave for the reasons you do, values, the children.

For me, celebrating competition over co-operation is the root of the problem. No one human can move a giant boulder obstructing the pathway. But a group can move mountains. We must not allow finance, the body politic, and media to keep us divided. Thank you so much for all you do...

I'm glad that Severn and David are fans of your Honest Government Ad. I will confess that your exposé of Canada's climate denial has discouraged me. I had once thought that I'd have to be an illegal immigrant and flee there if the orange buffoon prevails here. Guess not! It might not be jumping from the frying pan into the fire, but simply another frying pan. I do appreciate Severn and David recognizing that "Shit Lite" is still shit, still prioritizing the elites and mammon over people and planet. Still, what the First Nation people are doing there is so admirable and encouraging! I also have to hand it to the younger generations who are actively protesting how the fossil fools are destroying their future. Tragically, the latter are infiltrating and undermining the efforts to transition to renewables: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KN2ETuroink BTW, it seems that others, like Adam McKay have taken a leaf out of your book to create HONEST ads, in his case from the oil industry: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S2XTGteritE
