Glad it wasn't non-alcoholic. Let's Joyce enjoy it, goddamit

Gwen Sanger

And that's when the night went from good to great!

Viga

If this goes where the trope usually goes, Becky is gonna flip out.

I don't think a drunken makeout would be GREAT for Dorothy's mental health right now. She still sees Joyce as someone who needs to be taken care of and protected. She still blames herself for Joyce getting hurt, and just earlier was worrying about what if she can't protect her. This is Joyce's first time drinking, they don't know her tolerance or limits, and she's already clearly drunk. If they were to end up making out, once Dorothy sobers up, with how she's been lately, I can easily see her going into a spiral about not only having failed to protect her, but also having been someone a too-drunk-to-consent Joyce needed protection FROM. Even A kiss where she realises in the moment that 'no, bad, Joyce is drunk and cannot give informed consent, plus she's in a monogamous relationship' and pulls away as soon as it clicks in her head what she's doing would probably mess her up. A full makeout session? Fucking hell.

Heartily agree. Dorothy, IF she even is attracted to women, would feel terrible about Joyce being in a vulnerable less-consenty situation after the fact. That's the very thing Dorothy said she was here to protect against- not take advantage of herself! Even if Joyce made the move, there's a risk of her lashing back and saying it was all the alcohol. I see people hoping for make-outs. I'm just hoping they get home and go to (separate) beds.

Uh oh. Being drunk with friends can be fun. That doesn't mean being MORE drunk with friends is MORE fun. People often have to learn that one the hard way.

drunk joyce! drunk joyce! drunk joyce! drunk joyce!

Now I hope they stop before getting blackout drunk. Drinking hard liquor is a good way to get blackout drunk - you can drink too much too fast very easily.

Ok seriously tho your typical whisky flight is three or four pretty light pours, and has a lot less booze in it than, say, a single Long Island. It’s for tasting, not slamming*. (Yes, yes, I know this is a bar near a college. Still.)

Yeah, this is likely to be more dangerous to the wallet than the liver Although NO ONE tell Joyce about a Long Island, that’s how you get her actually fully blotto

Madison

But damn if it isn’t a great way to try things, Joyce has the right idea

Genevieve

Okay, the nose boop and the whiskey flight drowned this out at first but did Dorothy just BITE HER LIP when Joyce booped her? Girl. Giiiiiiiiiirrrrrrl.
