Actually not sure if this implies Joyce keeps getting up or if Joe is only dreaming she's there so she vanishes whenever he wakes up.

@Jarrod Lombardo: My reading is that Joyce - having consumed a great deal of alcohol - gets up twice during the night to go to the bathroom, then crawls back in bed with Joe. Both times, Joe is woken up by his sudden awareness of Joyce's absence, which is almost unbearably cute (in a good way).
