It's all about timing. Last time Walky and Dorothy were more or less here, having sex would've been an unhealthy decision on both their parts. It would've been cheating, for one thing, and a cheap shortcut to feeling better for Dorothy that'd leave her crashing right back into the same problems once the endorphins faded and a lower self-esteem than she had before. But since then, Dorothy's been doing some of the actual *work,* opening up about her issues to Joyce and even Joe, and talking out the problems with Walky instead of just darting into nostalgia to hide from them. And Walky's relationship with Lucy...I mean, there's maybe a 3% chance that's not over, but I sure as heck wouldn't judge Walky for thinking it was. Honestly, sex IS a pretty good way to say "I love you," as long as it's not the only love language you use. Right now, this feels like it could be healthy. (Though Dorothy's comment to Booster about making sure she's not "too good" for Walky is a little worrisome. Like, she *knows* Lucy and Walky are apparently splitsville, right?)

Even aside from the spectacular phone-throw, this strip has wonderful acting/directing. Dorothy strikes a different pose in each panel, bringing her arms over her face after hurling the phone, then slightly moving her right foot and knee to face Walky. Walky, on the other hand, just stands there with only his head turned towards Dorothy, until he extends his arm to touch her in the last panel. On the personalities level, he is neither insisting that she is really great as he used to do; nor is he minded to be co-garbage with her as with Amber/Amazi-Girl.

Yeah I mean…if Lucy doesn’t want to consider herself an ex-gf I feel like it’s on her, it’s been at least 2-3 days of zero contact after an incident most people would read as a breakup that she initiated (for COMPLETELY VALID REASONS, mind you!). If she’s actually all “no, let’s make this work!!!” she has had time to communicate with Walky that that’s what she wants, and she has chosen…otherwise. Again, not making a value judgment on that, she’s obviously hurt, BUT it’d be hypothetically shitty of her to hypothetically turn around and label Walky a cheater when he very much isn’t. (As for Dotty’s comment to Booster, she’s just doing a depression x snark back combo to Dr. Sassypants Freudenby there.)
