Harrison Fuller

Good Lord David. This is a lot of edging for Jocelyn

E

Can’t wait

Diane

I finally know where Jocelyne is! She's down in the lobby! Hurry! Run, go, meet your big sister, and please, for the love of fuck Joyce, don't act like you did with Carla.

Michael-Erik

Oh no, there's going to be at least two strips of Joyce looking around going "Where's my brother, there's just some girl here" before it clicks, right?

Sajuuk-Khar

No, no, I think Jocelyne would actually like to be told she’s always been Joyce’s sister, and would gracefully accept being welcomed to her gender Honestly we should be worried if Joyce *doesn’t* act like she did with Carla

Sajuuk-Khar

Joe cannot shake the feeling that all of his girlfriend’s statements involve her packing gunpowder into a small explosive labeled “Joyce’s Petard”, for some reason

Harold

"And I also have a REAL best girlfriend and we've DEFINITELY done REAL ADULT NO-HETERO-EXPLANATION STUFF"

Diane

Yeah, that would be good. But the whole tip toeing around in and being awkward, it kinda felt like she was judging, and I'm hoping she's got all that outta her system. I think she has, and it was a reasonable response based on how she was raised. It's always baby steps with Joyce. But thinking more, with how she reacted to Becky coming out as gay to her, I have faith Joyce will actually respond in a good way. Eventually.

The Aphro Chick

We're gonna get five strips of side plot now aren't we?

Andrea Andrew

I hope LGBTQ rights, including trans people, are protected in blue states. This story is a perfect illustration of why.

Inquiring Raven

So is tomorrow’s comic going to jump to: A: Ruth B: Dorthy and Walky talking about Joyce sending her confusing and blurry pictures and getting worried. C: Sal smoking somewhere. D: The Iguana sitting somewhere unexpected. Place your bets!

Wyle Heart

Ugh... That mix of emotions when the person you're coming out to supports you, but is so bad at it that they cause unintentional hurt. That's what I see in Jocelyn's future.

Packy Anderson

I mean, I'm all for a cut to Fuckface, but I'm not betting on it.

C

"There are definitively no other big news events that could come today!"

Andrea Andrew

If only he could’ve predicted how things might turn out.

VengeanceKnight

Prediction: Joyce’s reaction is to immediately realize her mistake and run off to apologize to Carla, does so, and then immediately realize she forgot to tell her sister that she accepts her and runs back.

Katrina Marie Paton

Unfortunately my trans friend lives in Florida. Somehow, I feel that somewhere between the destruction of the Education Department and Robert Kennedy being in charge of womens right (should be any easy job when they dont have any) the Trump administration will find time to flat out outlaw being anything but CIS.

Onyx

Willis is enjoying our torment, I am sure

Bagge

Ah, I love the moment when Joyce thinks she has it all figured out

Minzoku Bokumetsu

torture would be if Jocelyne shows up... still closeted... and the news is about Jordan

Anna K

"We outlawed trans so hard, all trans is now banned. Transatlantic flights? Banned. Transistors? Banned. Transcendentalism? Banned. You're welcome, America."

Anna K

There was an older gentleman at my last workplace who liked to tell the story of when he first found out his daughter was his *daughter*, not his son. She'd invited him round for dinner with the mention of having "something important to discuss". He got to the parking garage of her flats, looked around, and thought "who's that beautiful young lady walking towards me?". And then he realised. And, as he tells it, within an hour he found it impossible to think of her as anything but "my daughter, Holly", because it was just so obvious that this was what was right for her. He was the sweetest, fiercest ally to the LGBT+ community I've met in some time, and I hope Joyce takes a similar path here.

Andrea Andrew

Joe still doesn’t know that, I think.

“Simply put, dramatic irony is when a person makes a harmless remark, and someone else who hears it knows something that makes the remark have a different, and usually unpleasant, meaning. For instance, if you were in a restaurant and said out loud, "I can't wait to eat the veal marsala I ordered," and there were people around who knew that the veal marsala was poisoned and that you would die as soon as you took a bite, your situation would be one of dramatic irony.” ― Lemony Snicket, The Reptile Room
