In fairness, there is a faux pas, here: interrupting someone's coming-out moment is not usually done. Best way to handle that is to sort of let it wash over you. You can tell them after the fact how you'd already figured it out, but that moment is theirs to manage. YMMV, of course, but that's the etiquette as I understand it.
