I figured something like this would happen but not so soon. If there needs to be an event that makes Joyce second think having sex with Joe this day, this is it. I think Joe will be the one who gets cold feet, though. This request is coming after Jennifer's sage advice about how it's normal for best friends to make out, too. Maybe Joyce actually initiates it. It all feels like a thinly veiled pretense at this stage but I don't doubt Joyce's anxiety here.

Also doing so would maybe be cheating on this new, apparently Official thing she's re-kindled with Walky? ...no, no I want to rationalize this. OK, let's see. ::Pulls out whiteboard:: Maybe if she's still, like, involved as a referee of some kind without actually touching, Joe goes for it because he's already been on camera with Roz and doesn't mind an audience, knows it helps ground Joyce. There are a lot of good conversations to be had, too! But generally not when Dorothy (or Booster) is on-panel. And I just know tomorrow's comments are going to be a sea of "somehow, Joyce making this offer is all Dorothy's fault". And also 100% unwavering confidence that Dorothy is going to take her up on it, with manipulative intent, because obviously Dorothy doesn't care at all about Joyce's or Walky's feelings, only about satisfying her craving for the Joyce Mineral.

I cannot wait to find out exactly what kind of help Joyce is asking for??? How literal is the "show" in "show me what to do"? Is this her taking Jennifer at her word that besties can "bang" at least once? How much is Dorothy's head about to explode? The *best* course of action here is for Dorothy to lay down boundaries in this relationship, which... she's so far definitely failed to do at least three times. (When Joyce asked her to help her come up with a list of not-quite-sex things she and Joe could do together, when Joyce first floated the idea of watching Dorothy and Walky, and for a more innocuous example: the life-drawing class.) Dorothy could also cop to her feelings, and apologize for thinking that the laundry room incident was a normal platonic girls just being girls activity. Second best would probably be for Dorothy to run away from this conversation as fast as her legs can carry her. I'm honestly hoping for these options! Even though I ship them a lot. Because I think Dorothy being honest here or at least running away is very much necessary for any kind of "they get together" thing to actually work out, whether now as a poly arrangement with Joe (which I'm not sure he'd be on board for, but which he might try to force himself to go along with anyway the same way he told her he didn't think he "had a right" to be jealous when she went drinking with Dorothy) and/or Walky (also not sure he'd be on board for that, hard to tell how serious he was about liking the idea of a poly thing with Lucy and Amber)... or later, after they've broken up with their boyfriends. But hey. Gonna be a wild ride either way.

Sajuuk-Khar: Yes, but we have a known outcome in the Ethan/Danny case, whereas we have yet to see an outcome for Dorothy/Joyce (if indeed there's a definite outcome to be had). The cases are certainly different, but written by the same author. When we're further into the Dorothy/Joyce saga, we can redo our comparisons.
