It's really an alternating reverse-angle conversation strip where Dorothy takes twice as long to speak as Becky because she's using beat panels for self-beating. Dorothy's eyes narrow and her eyebrows re-appear as she rejects talking to Becky, and both her utterances have the bendy pointers of hesitancy. Continued staring at the closet/half-bath wall probably isn't going to help, but she *did* manage to get out of bed. My guess is that she has an impulse to seek out a listener, but she can't think of anyone.

I doubt Becky will let it go at that. She knows very well that Dorothy hasn't been OK for a while, and now Dorothy's flat-out said it. She needs to open up to someone, and it probably *should* be Becky. Also, those Dotty eyes in panel 6, Jesus Christ

Oh god. I can't tell if Becky is the best or the worst person for Dorothy to talk to her about this. I really am not looking forward to the shit that is Becky-finding-out-Joyce-may-be-a-little-bi-curious hitting the oh-it's-toward-the-person-she's-been-jealous-of fan. @Uniquitous: I mean, I'd like to *think* that Becky, being aware enough to recognize the dire state that Dorothy is in, might be understanding and empathetic, even if Dorothy reveals exactly what's troubling her. I'd like to think that she wouldn't pile on to Dorothy's pain by reacting with hostility. I'd *like* to think that. But we'll just need to wait and see.

Sometimes you’re so close to somebody getting together with them would feel like incest. Joyce loves Becky like an actual sister. She never had a chance at this turning romantic. Once Becky accepts that it’s likelier to hurt less. Plus she’s got Dina. She’ll get over it. Remember the Joyce is an atheist reveal? I think it’ll be similar to that.
