They’re probably fine either way, but the reasoning includes, you have to send two guys to roll up two different people, but if they’re right next to each other maybe you can get a twofer and bag both with one guy sent (and might thus try). Also, if they’ve got cops in town (or on campus) trying to pick up stragglers, if they recognize or have photos of either one, it implicates the other one and they detain both, for “questioning”.

@BBCC This is only conjecture on my part, since I've only read the comments very sparingly since I subscribed to Patreon, but betting that David or some commenters made joking references comparing Joyce/Dorothy shippers to the Sickos meme, with those opposed to this ship, or perhaps with some it's more oppose-it-until-they-properly-break-up-with-Joe-and-Walky being described as Relationship Paladins. It was a poll until recently, in a "which side are you on?" way.

Ooooh boy. The callbacks (visual and dialog) that have been pointed out are doing some seriously heavy lifting in this strip. They pretty much confirm that some serious shit is about to happen. Time to speculate on what.

In order of most to least likely... 1. Joyrothy has ABSOLUTELY been photographed. This will out them to people (cough Carol cough) before they have a chance to figure out how or what they want to tell people. Puts them on the defensive from the get go.

2. Something heartbreaking is about to happen to Amazigirl. I don't know if she will be shot and wounded while escaping (because Willis loves the character and grants juuust enou plot armor), or if she is some combination of captured, unmasked, and brutalized by the po-po (because Willis loves fucking with us). Whatever it is, Joyrothy will likely be blamed for it, either by others or by themselves.

Did you ever see the movie "A Perfect Storm"? Good movie, good cast, based on the IRL tragedy of the Andrea Gale fishing boat. Definitely not the worst way to spend a couple hours sometime. Anyway, the little fishing boat is trying to escape a massive storm at sea, and there is a moment where the crew sees the edge of the storm. They see the calmer waters and (literal) smooth sailing ahead and everyone gets a sigh of relief. Then this massive wave rears up, seemingly in slow motion, out of nowhere, and everyone - audience and characters alike - realizes that they are so fucked. Worse, that they were ALWAYS fucked, they just didn't realize it until it was way past the opportunity to do anything about it. It's weird, but that scene has been playing in my brain... and I just can't imagine why.

In turn, Joe/Joyce/Dorothy I have named the Sacred Polycule, where the “church” is topping both “state” and also “patriarchy” (Joe), and also all three have become woke oh no!!! (lol) (Alt-interpretation for the Sacred Polycule would be that Joyce is Jesus, Dotty is Mary Magdalene, Joe is Simon Peter. )

@Silent: While things may not play out *quite* the way you outline above (and yes, I'm aware most of it is a bit), I do envision part of it being accurate - although you appear to have forgotten that Asher *already* knows Amber is A-G (he saw the Amazi-outfit hanging in Amber's closet). If A-G manages to get away from Dunn Meadow, the police are going to be looking for her, and I can easily see Asher revealing that he knows and offering to help her... for the price of a favor, or two, or...
