dorothy keener's left doinker

sarah’s gonna get a bad grade in grammar, something that’s—… well okay that’s pretty normal actually

Kazo

Sarah, sweetie, I think you're overthinking this.

MrShoggoth

Sarah’s the kind of person who has nightmares over malaprops she said years ago, isn’t she?

tifani

Joyce telling someone to relax is funny.

LupinThe8th

She was actually a super cheerful and outgoing person until the day a server told her to enjoy her meal, and she said "Thanks, you too".

Fart Captor

hooooooooo boy Sarah, what are you doin to yerself

AE Gonzalez

You’re getting a massive dick, Sarah; literally just sit back and enjoy it. . . . or ride it, or suck it, whatever works for you.

Harold

"Do as I say, not as I do"

Smoochie

Ah yes, the overthinking of being head over heels for someone for the first time. Pain.

C

"I mean, Joe's got that last thing without all the mess...Oh, right, speaking of, hey Dorothy...what are you thoughts on Polycules?" All humorous bits aside, I'm sure Tony will accept Sarah as she is.

AE Gonzalez

Seriously, you have an awesome boyfriend, Sarah; don’t overthink it.

Railway Series Book Club

doinks is telling me to leave a comment about dorothy's conetits since she already left a normal comment, even though that's more her beat than mine anyway, they're very triangular here and i appreciate them that is all

Tom @ Magic Chopstick Games

I think one thing that Tony is probably *not* super into is hyperbolic manufactured drama, Sarah

Dan Rabin

1. Dorothy and Joyce (the latter now down from the chair) move in front of the still-open door after Tony leaves, arms now around each other. 2. Sarah's anxiety is unnecessary. Dorothy's anxiety, reiterated from yesterday's strip, is a real concern. 3. Joyce's left had goes to Dorothy's shoulder in the last panel, probably after Dorothy voices her concern. The gesture conveys some mixture of "I share your concern" and "I comfort you", but we don't know the mix. 4. Joyce's face stays pretty constant between the last two panels, but her eyes drop from looking slightly up to looking straight ahead. Perhaps Sarah has sat down at her desk, perhaps it's just random variation in attention. 5. In panel 3, Joyce is smiling, perhaps because Sarah looked so happy before her operating-system task scheduler cued an anxiety attack and caused her speech pointer to buckle.

Damn, alright. Guess everyone's down bad, today.

MST3K.fan: The Cheesy Movie Essays

Trouble in paradise. I definitely think Sarah ends up with Joe now. I don't think Tony is right for her at all. The rules are too stressful just to get to the dick part. Not worth it.

5099 5618 v2.0

@AE Gonzalez I suspect it's about sequencing such things, more than anything else

Tessea

Last panel Joyce - "Dorothy, I'm frightened."

Logibear

Yup, Horny but Patient. However Sarah forgot that Horny. Always. Wins.

Logibear

Also, is that the first time someone in this strip has spoken in a different font?

GundamBradley

Sarah's neurosis is sweet, and certainly consistent.

GundamBradley

I think "ends up with" isn't really how anyone's playing out, like I feel like Willis isn't having anyone as any kind of untouchable endgame, but I certainly can believe that Joe and Sarah's story is going to have many more developments, yeah.

MST3K.fan: The Cheesy Movie Essays

well, right. Not everyone ends up with their college sweetheart as endgame. I do think Sarah/Joe has much more potential for long term. All Joe really wants is someone that respects him and takes the two of them seriously and Sarah is that. Plus he doesn't give a shit about rules.

Harold

"Ms. Keener, I don't feel so good"

Amós Batista

the H in Jesus H. Christ goes by "Hanna"

Logibear

That strip belongs in the Louvre

Simon Magid

Well, he prefers Law & Order to both CSI: Indiana and NCIS.

Amós Batista

no, there's a old one, where Sal approaches Ambers , that made her scary

darklion

the words keep coming out but I don't know what they mean

5099 5618 v2.0

@Simon Magic Criminal Minds might be a contender, tho. I suspect he also loves The Wire.

DramaQueen

Does she actually like him? She likes rules too doesn’t she?

Beck Chonigman

Hey. You don't know. Maybe he WANTS a bad girl that breaks the [gramatical] rules. 😎

C.T. Phipps

I am very confused because Sarah is the most rules following student in the campus.

Sajuuk-Khar

Ohhhh, right, Sarah’s neurosis and cynicism and deep-seated fear of failure!

Sajuuk-Khar

He might consider it “buffoonery”

Sajuuk-Khar

she is wrestling that gift horse to look it squarely in its mouth so help her God

Spartacus

She likes rules, but more relevant for her and this guy, she feels rules are important to follow, and they get along well because he does, too

Jasmijn Wellner

Does she have her priorities or is she a ball of anxiety and neuroticism?

MrShoggoth

For real. I had that once, realising I liked a new friend and panicking because I didn’t want to ruin our friendship by saying something stupid, and I overthought every interaction in case I’d said the wrong thing that could spook her. I’d lost another friendship years earlier to similar circumstances and I wanted to avoid it. A few months later, it turned out she’d been thinking the exact same thing but had been actively trying to pursue me once she realised. We’re celebrating eleven years together next April.

Ilana Feldman

How has nobody mentioned "I could crawl up into them and be safe and warm forever"?

Harold

Item 3: 40% "I share your concern," 35% "I comfort you," 25% "If Sarah wasn't here right now these hands would be elsewhere"

Harold

@MrShoggoth: D'AWWW! Congratulations!

Harold

@C: When "polycules" is capitalized it looks like the name of a mythological character, pronounced "Po-LICK-u-lees"

Empress of Robots

I also like this potential dilemma for Sarah: standing by/up for Joyce vs standing by/riding that petit filet mignon of a man

tifani

She’s a Walt Whitman poem. She contains multitudes.

tifani

I think her roommate’s continuing disregard for any and all rules that don’t suit her might be the concern. Joyce could not have picked a worse time to go “no shame to cope with all the shame” as fair as Sarah’s loins are concerned.

tifani

They have been dating for 45 minutes. Yeah I want Sarah in the polycule OBVIOUSLY and she and Joe clearly have an undeniable spark but we can’t rush this (I think Sarah/Joe happens the second Dorothy/Joyce/Joe are most stable) and Tony can’t be kicked out until he proves himself unworthy. Then the other members get to vote him out. Siiigh, peak romance.

Seth Aaron Hershman has they/she pronouns

kinda wish the comments were half as paranoid about the virtues of this cis blonde white guy as they were about any other character i mean i don't cuz willis would have to read about it, but

tifani

I do think the more I dwell on it Joe/Sarah 100% have the makings of an endgame pairing. It’s like it would never occur to any of these characters but if it was ever pointed out you couldn’t unsee it.

tifani

Kind of like how I can’t unsee the idea of what Raidah/Mike could have been if he’d lived and they’d gotten together.

Fart Captor

I think she's going to great lengths for dick
