First thought: Sarah is really shining on me with how much growth she’s showing, but it’s good to see she’s still herself. Second thought: well that’s not an ominous title for the next storyline at all…

Smoochie

I appreciate panel 3: Sarah’s eyebrow up like Joyce and Dorothy are just *trying* and failing at keeping themselves quiet, or their brand of mid-coitus pillow talk has Sara questioning her reality at 2am. It’s probably the latter. It’s the latter isn’t it?

AE Gonzalez

Maybe just some make-outs and groping, nothing that would lead to screams/groans of pleasure.

KittyKai

Sarah imma need you to move in with Tony so that the both of yous can smex in peace :3

Astariel

Although I'm firmly in favor of as much Joyrothy sex as possible, I feel for Sarah here. Sharing a room in this situation is just really awkward. I wonder if she's reflecting on how unlikely this situation would have seemed back in September.

Populuxe

She’s pining for Tony’s Big D, and the Joyce/Dorothy shenanigans aren’t helping.

Railway Series Book Club

they're not even getting randy, sarah's just being kept awake by the game of scrabble they're playing

Maude Reads Things

This is how you know that things are different - earlier Sarah would've booted them both out on the spot. If they're naked, well, that's a them problem, not a Sarah problem. This storyline was interesting because it brought out a lot of what I like about these two's relationship even if I don't ship it and why I think they could be good for each other long term, despite their shitty start. It also reminded me why I wanna shake Joyce really hard half the time so. Pros and cons!

HenryVolt

The only thing that's not completely giving them away is a lack of constant squeaking sounds...atleast I assume there isn't because I'm not seeing sound effects text.

Dan Rabin

A classic repeated-panel sequence, only four panels, only change for the punch is the eye-shift and the comment from Sarah. The glints on the eyes are necessary for legibility, and are dimmed along with the rest of the panels. Very nice, goodnight!

C

*Cut to Joyce and Dorothy on the other side of Sarah's bed.* "...Sorry, we'll go back to our bed."

Logibear

Yeah. Speaking from experience, one of the quickest ways to sour a friendship is to partake in sexy times with unwilling witnesses... Apologies to my uni roommate, I promise that I didn't know you were there.

Crunchos cereal

Yeah, this answers my etiquette question from yesterday quite well…

Logibear

"Yes! Yes! Triple! Word! Score!"

wyatt

legit all timer name for next storyline

SkittleE

Look, it is Perfectly Normal and even Reasonable to get violently passionate about Scrabble

Harold

THUMPASPRUNG

Simon Magid

"Goddammit. It's not that I object to being woke. But I don't like to be woken *up*."

Logibear

Which will break first? Liberated Ex-Fundamentalist Libido or a Solid Hunk of Mahogany?

5099 5618 v2.0

@HenryVolt There are also other senses.

5099 5618 v2.0

Get her a sleep mask with Bluetooth headphones inlaid for Xmas, y'all. Or maybe just one of those speakers you can put under a pillow to fall asleep to white noise (the standard variety)

Packy Anderson

I mean, it works for me, but my bedroom is pretty quiet. I don't know how well it would work if it was trying to drown out noises.

5099 5618 v2.0

@Simon Magid A+. No notes. Carry on.

5099 5618 v2.0

@Magic Chopstick Games Also, kissing makes noise thats pretty audible in an otherwise still and quiet room.

DiDi-chan

And we are free! At last! It's lame that you cut it so we don't see any reaction to Sarah throwing ice on the party. Though at least one of them probably wouldn't feel enough shame anyway.

5099 5618 v2.0

@wyatt Care to place a bet on how much time we're about to skip?

wyatt

I mean, I think we’ll skip 7 hours and 59 minutes give or take

Shane Wegner

Ha! Props to the people who called Sarah being there. *squishy sounds continue*

5099 5618 v2.0

@wyatt My guess is at least a week. Regardless, I think this is...January? So maybe they'll skip to spring break or so?

5099 5618 v2.0

@Logibear If it's the latter, you'd just need two more miracles to get nominated for sainthood.

Logibear

"hmmm, tastes like people are fucking in here"

Simon Magid

@Wyatt Gasp! That's like, at least six weeks of regular comics! :O

Shane Wegner

It does happen to be including someone in their sexuality without that person’s consent.

Shane Wegner

She wants to be in his bed now, but he decided it’s “unseemly” to breed like rabbits every night in a row! So salt in the wounds there.

Sajuuk-Khar

“Thumpasprung is so a word, Dorothy!”

Sajuuk-Khar

oh my god, they weren’t roommates

Tessea

Time to gift Sarah some high end sound cancelling headphones.

Tessea

Next up: The fun's over, now for the pain. Dorothy & Joyce - "Sorry! Sleep good, Sarah."

Sajuuk-Khar

They were not so smooth and now they’re the problem (Of course, the hilarious thing about “I’m The Problem, It’s Me” is it describes: -how Becky feels -how Joe feels -how Amber feels -how Dorothy feels vis-a-vis (some of) the fallout -how Sarah subconsciously feels -how Ruth has always felt re: Billie SO it’s gonna be pretty great I bet)

Smoochie

@S-K Well, at least Willis didn’t go with ‘Hope It Gives You Hell’.

AE Gonzalez

Could also apply to Joyce, realizing she is the cause (or close to it) of all these people’s problems.

AE Gonzalez

On to the origins of Joyce’s new leather jacket (if you’ve been catching the preview panels).

etherealDesign

you know you want to do a second joyrothy slipshine back-to-back to assert dominance over main site comments and reddit. it's time to double down.

Empress of Robots

Sooooo. I guess Dorothy really didn’t want Joyce to get that shirt all ratty, huh?

Empress of Robots

Tomorrow on Slipshine: YOU ARENT QUIET! SARAH CAN HEAR EVERYTHING

Harold

@Tessea: Or a neuralyzer, so she can forget what she's seen and heard

Empress of Robots

Plot twist: Sarah moves in with Becky. Joyce and Dorothy both fail the semester because they cant keep their hands off each other enough to get to class.

tifani

End of storyline and my overall thoughts are this: I started neutral on the idea of this pairing and now I just fully do not care for these two (alone) together. I don’t think this is a healthy dynamic with just these two. Joe does deserve better.

tifani

And I do NOT want a time skip. I want to see the Monday after all this. (The title has me optimistic).

5099 5618 v2.0

@Logibear (Ngl, I do think I've passed by that room, once or twice ...)

The other Alan

I was totally on board and ready for the Joe-Joyce thing to happen, it was wonderful to see how Joe became a whole new person. Not to mention watching Joyce work her way to allowing a sexual awakening. I was also crushed to see how much it hurt Dorothy once she realized she did, in fact, have a crush on Joyce. However, the minute Joyce realized she was more in love with Dorothy than she was with Joe, I was all on board with that as well. Joe does indeed deserve happiness, maybe with Rachel now that she has seen what he can become when he is an actual functional human. I'm just tired of the people saying Joyce didn't break up with him. She did, period. Joe simply offered the possibility of still being part of her intimate world. They'll talk about it soon, and there will be tears, but it'll all be whatever Willis has discovered it'll be. Let him tell the damn story, and if you don't like it, write your own. And yes, I do not want a time skip either! But if one happens, well, one happens. All that said, In the event he's taking suggestions retroactively in the buffer, though, I'd like to see Becky and Dina fixed immediately if not sooner...

Empress of Robots

That’s a false dichotomy: Dorothy wins from both of those

MrShoggoth

You mean… they were just really close pals??
