The25th

He seems like a stickler. Hmm

Andrea Andrew

Aww. Sarah’s boyfriend is a good person who knows the law.

Bayard Brewin

Could this be timelier, no it really couldn’t

Logibear

Tony in panel 2 is giving off "NPC that can only say a single line that tells you everything about his personality" vibes.

C

"I do believe in one thing...THE LAW! *strikes a dramatic action figure pose*" Sarah: ...*sighs*

Sajuuk-Khar

Evidence for him being a White Boy of Privilege remains strong. A decent white boy of privilege, but still.

Shado_Temple

Guess I'm off to listen to some Rockapella

Buck Caldwell

I get the feeling he doesn't think his old man is going to be looking too closely. Hope HE won't be looking too closely, or he might find Other Jacob.

HenryVolt

Tony is lawful good, got it.

Kazo

WHERE. IN THE WORLD. IS. CARMEN SANDIEGO.

Corronchilejano

Just a few open boxes? Those cops must be new.

Harold

OK, maybe Tony *doesn't* suck. His dad might, though. His dad probably does. And it seems like Tony knows that.

Maude Reads Things

Oh never mind! They DIDN'T have a warrant. Again, they may not have needed one if building services or whoever has authority here gave permission but that could easily be actionable. I'm kinda interested in how that will shake out

Astariel

So they didn't have a warrant after all. That's interesting, and likely to annoy a college administration that would otherwise probably be sympathetic to the police. I guess the cops were so embarrassed by Amazi-Girl that they felt like they had to swing their dicks around and rub in everyone's face that they're above the law. Tony's coming off better today, which I'm glad to see.

Astariel

Nah, I'm 43 and I got it.

Ben Wray

I cherish the implied "Damn it, Booster" in the third panel there.

Fart Captor

Well, lawful at least. The good part is possible but not exactly established yet

5099 5618 v2.0

@C (/[ Karl Urban | Judge Dredd ] resonance intensifies)

Dan Rabin

Visible in panel 1: A Bible (probably Joyce's); and empty bottle of (probably) Sprite.

David M Willis

well it's definitely not sierra mist 'cuz it's not called that anymore

5099 5618 v2.0

@Harold Gotta start that character arc somewhere

Railway Series Book Club

it took me a few minutes to realize tony is talking about literally cleaning up the mess in sarah's room, rather than metaphorically about the whole warrant situation or maybe he's wording that way because he intends to do the metaphorical thing too idk

5099 5618 v2.0

@Joseph @Baron Mercury (Do kids still listen to MSI? I'd believe Amber and Ruth do. Probably Dorothy, too, tho I think she would blush bright red and run away if called on it)

GundamBradley

I am glad that Tony is less sympathetic to the cops than he appeared last strip, potentially, but I do get the impression he has considerably more faith in authority than Sarah does. That does seem to be a potential cause for division between these two, over time.

Andrea Andrew

Did you see the remake from 2019 to 2022?

William Lewis

A paladin. But will he be able to do anything about it?

5099 5618 v2.0

@William Lewis Maybe he's an Oaths of Order Paladin?

William Lewis

Doesn't strike me as a "secret state police" type, though.

Darastrix

GOD I miss Surge. And Vault (which tasted identical and came out 5 years after Surge was discontinued, just without the radioactive green...then it went away and Surge came back 5 years after that in 16oz cans). We are long overdue for another Surge sighting.

Jesse

THEY BETRAYED THE LAW!!

Joe360

Between lawful and good a true paladin will always choose good: we yet to see if Tony is one.

Lia

Nah thats a red flag I'm hitting her ejector seat button

Tessea

He wasn't sympathetic. He wasn't saying 'i hope they succeeded!' he was hoping they didn't have a reason to come back and try again.

Tsa

FUCK I HEARD THAT ALT TEXT, CHILDHOOD MEMORY UNLOCKED

Tessea

Good guy Tony. I wish I could have something lighter to say, but with all the nonsense coming out of the US (especially in the last couple of weeks), the idea of police/authority overreach is getting scarier every day. I could not even begin to imagine what it would be like to come home and find your things ransacked like this. I just know that I would be feeling some combination of pissed and helpless. Hopefully these cops get _some_ kind of legal punishment handed down. There's far too little accountability in the system these days.

GundamBradley

I didn't mean it in that sense, like I figured he *probably* meant it the way we now know for sure he did, I'm more just meaning that additional context makes it thankfully clearer.

Joe Crow - Words & Pictures

Well, Jimmy Urine apparently turned out to be a massive creep, so probably not. Pity about that.

Kazo

hdu, I'm only 39 (almost)

Yue Ryong

I think stepping in against Incelerator at least marginally tips him into Good.

C.T. Phipps

One thing that rarely gets brought up is Lawful Good is not the best alignment because Neutral Good people always pursue Good. D&D struggled with that because Neutrals suck. :D

CoreyWW

Okay that’s good, we at least know Tony isn’t a cryptofacist, that’s good

thejeff

While it's obviously not definitive, both Tony and Ruth could have been wrong about needing warrants, that it's been brought up twice (and that Sarah doesn't counter it here), strongly implies we're being told that they did need one and didn't have it

thejeff

I'm well over 45 and I missed it. There must be a window.

Shane Wegner

Amazi-girl has fled to a country shaped like a boot! ::Rockapella bops out more beats::

Rubia

Never got into Carmen Sandiego, since I was well into my twenties when it came out... but mentions are always enough to have that little ditty by Mozart play in my head... Singt dem grossen Bassa Lieder, Töne, feuriger Gesang; Und vom Ufer halle wieder Unsrer Lieder Jubelklang! ♫

Mitzi B.

Tony staring directly at the reader to make his announcement in Panel 2 is hilarious to me.

Jasmijn Wellner

What is the law? No spill blood! Who makes the rules? Someone else!

tifani

I get the vibe Tony does NOT trust his dad to do the right thing. Or like he thinks his dad likely got the cops to come in. That “probably” seems loaded. His whole attitude to “the rule of law” might be a response to being raised by someone he’s seen routinely bend the rules for their own convenience. A “rules exist for a reason” type but his reasons are they’re supposed to keep power in check.

Maude Reads Things

Legally speaking, from a quick internet search, the university can consent to a search of the dorm rooms, so they may not have needed a warrant if they had the university's consent.

George Simpson

I'm going to need this one explained to me. What's the reference?
