Yeah, this is exactly what Becky needed from Dotty. Making it into a playful bit is the correct way to soften the sting of having to hear about this stuff rather than avoiding the topic and walking on eggshells around her Yeah it still probably stings a bit, but it would be sting worse to be excluded from this new queer development in her friends' lives and have them avoid her. So we get a little silly with it to get through

Lets talk about Someone. So i've talked about Dorothy's arc i think... Oh god i was still on the mainsite back then i think or it was really early into my time here on the patreon? Dorothy has kinda always been on this road to villainy in each universe. In the original she became one literally and in DOA if Joyce hadn't swayed her from her chosen path by pretty much being around at all. I noticed something back then i never brought up. Joyce is associated with the color orange as we know, and Dorothy is associated with Purple yes yes! Now, what other iconic duo in this universe shares that same choice of primary colors? Joyce already has a comic where she's the faithful yet still questioning and exasperated underling of Joyce. She's already drawn the Monkey Master comparison. My point is, this too is the culmination of Dorothy's arc. Staying with Joyce fulfilled one promise... And now she's filled the OTHER promise. I mean acting like a supervillain based off of a cartoon you grew up watching is kinda sorta like being brainwashed and used as a vessel by the same said cartoon character except very real and dangerous right? Also i love how Becky is trying to hold back a smile here. She's all in for Dorothy's heel turn and it's probably grounded her finally after so long. Also love the dynamic of Becky and Dorothy (rivals as a bit) vs Joyce and Dina (rivals in a killing each other with swords in a volcano kinda way).

Sometimes when the conventional reassurances aren't working on a depressed person, you need to resort to unconventional means to jolt them out of their stupor. This is a lesson I've had occasion to re-learn a few times. So yeah, this one resonates, and it's the funniest installment in a while, too. Imagine a universe where they end up together; just horrifying. Unfortunately the first thing that came to mind as to when you'd set that to really make it clear it's the other universe is have it right at the end of IW!, fresh out of the resurrection pod (https://www.itswalky.com/comic/its-walky/). Ultra Car, against her will, was in the room at the time and unable to get through the door, so I hope she could still phase through walls at that point. Yes, I did reread the Walkyverse recently.
