The only real Amazi-Girl has a very particular abdominal fresh knife wound. The corrupt cop MAY have had the presence of mind to keep the bloody knife as DNA match evidence. That said, knives are difficult to justify as lethal force ("I was concerned for my life, so I had to run into melee range and employ lethal force in self defense" reads as a bit of a contradiction), so some suprvisor may have said "Get rid of that evidence, you never had a knife and this never happened." So any half assed plan they have needs to solve that bottleneck.

To be fair, with Amazi-Girl's known actions towards police, "she was on top of me before I could get my gun out" is a decent reason to use a knife in self defense. Or even "She was beating my partner and I couldn't get a clear shot".
