The gray backgrounds and the blue edges around the characters are probably the dawn's early light. This may be an hour at which Old Dorothy would have gone running. IIRC Sal was careful to identify the person that the kitchen doctor tended in Asher's presence only as Amazi-Girl. Asher saw the costume in Amber's closet, and at least suspects the secret identity. Anyhow, he would expect A-G to be seriously wounded, and now he has questions.
