Oops. This was an opening for Dorothy to admit her crisis to Joyce, but instead she's drawing on Joyce's admiration-energy to buoy her. We saw in the preceding strip that Dorothy fears Joyce "leaving" her—does she think that sharing her troubles will make Joyce abandon her? But Joyce. Is. Loyal. Conversely, Joyce didn't rush right oujt to tell Dorothy about her own loss of faith.
