It's not a horror movie but after Back to the Future my favorite Michael J Fox movie is Doc Hollywood.

Hard to believe that crazy Patricia was the mom in "ET". I had a chance to meet and chat with Dee Wallace a couple years ago and found her to be a lovely, charming woman. And not just because she said I was cute. She has worked with more important directors than most living actors. Spielberg, Jackson (who had a cameo as a goth guy in this film), Blake Edwards, Wes Craven, Joe Dante, and the list goes on.

...and for some reason, when I hear Dee Wallace, I think Cujo

Coincidentally, Fox runs through a white picket fence with his car in The Frighteners as well

Doc Hollywood is a fantastic movie. And really holds up even after all these years. I interviewed David Ogden Stiers around 2007 and he talked about what a great experience it was filming that, and how much it meant to him. It's a little gem.

I love this because it's so darned weird, even though I admit PJ's sense of humor is too much about things like poop and mucus and stuff and he obviously thinks they're hilarious and they just gross me out. But I still love this movie and think it's so clever, and I remember how cool the effects were at the time. I replied with this over on YT, but the romantic interest in this is Trini Alvarado, one of my favorite actresses, who was just lovely in Little Women with Winona Ryder, and I just think Michael J. Fox is fantastic here. He's straight-up tragic and dark but also still so charming. And so fun seeing a cameo by Melanie Lynskey -- you have to watch her in PJ's "Heavenly Creatures," with Kate Winslet's movie debut!
