Hi Kat! I will watch this at some point. I have owned a copy of this movie for years now without ever watching it. You give me that motivation now. 😬

Hey Kat, Unfortunately I am down visiting my Dad in the Dominican Republic so tomorrow we spend the traveling so it will be Thursday before I get to my friends house to watch this. If we can make it back tomorrow. I guess we have gotten 10+ inches of snow. More is coming. Taken a cue from Cassie? Watching from Bed.

Roosevelt Hotel in New York City, while the grand lobby scenes were shot at the Reform Club in London

The director also had made an alternate ending alternate ending of a few minutes you can find on-line for free .

It’s more of a fearful conclusion

Glad to see you made it the full 60 minutes! 😎 This is one of my go-to movies and definitely in my top 10 horror movies. John Cusack truly shines in this! My next John Cusack recommendation would be Identity (2003) if you haven’t seen it yet. It falls under more of a suspense/thriller but still has some horror elements sprinkled in there. Secret Window (2004) (also a Stephen King story) is also along the same grain as these!

I thought that I had already seen this one, but turns out that it was a DIFFERENT horror movie with John Cusack at a hotel! This one was much more entertaining :D

SPOILERS OF THE MOVIE AND BOOK: It shows him escaping and reuniting with his wife, with proof of the supernatural through a tape recording. However, the book's ending is much darker, leaving him permanently scarred and trapped in his own mind—a tragic figure unable to fully escape the room's effects. In the Director's Cut, Mike dies in the fire, but his spirit reunites with his daughter's ghost in the afterlife, which is also a kind of escape. Kat, you're thinking, as King writes. When are you gonna watch The Dead Zone?

Was going to watch this on 14/08 but i'm a day late, ah well. Let's goo

I seemed to watch a version with added/missing scenes and a different ending to yours, kept having to re-sync them. But my ending had a funeral scene, Sam L Jackson with his possessions, playing tape recorder in car, then a jump to a burnt hotel room with the writer's ghost in it

A great film in the same vein is Oculus, I guess you'd have to watch it with a mirror next to you. Could do Poltergeist 3 in the same sitting ^^
