The Jersey Devil is a real legend/cryptid. It’s the basis for the New Jersey Devils name!

TGrimace

Heh. So far, it's been pretty much all 'monster of the week' episodes. But have no fear, it won't be long until we get back into the overarching storyline :)

Kat so glad you are loving these.. they are so good. Say Hi

Code Monkey

I could literally see Kat's anxiety levels go thru the roof when they switched to the birthday party and those screaming kids! 🤣🤣🤣

I'm appreciating the writing far more this time around. When the series first came out, I didn't get to watch every episode as they aired, I had to catch some of them on reruns. WAAAAY better like this.

Fish_Kungfu

I'm so glad you are enjoying these! My favorite part of this episode is that at the end Scully chose to be with Mulder.

The "real" Jersey Devil is supposedly a beastly cow/horse-thing with wings that was (depending on who's telling the story) cursed or spawned by the devil, hence the name. When this ep first aired I was a bit miffed we got a generic Bigfoot instead of the weird-looking cryptid the title promised, but in retrospect how would you ever do an 'accurate' version of the Jersey Devil on a 90s TV show budget? Probably for the best that it ended up a Yeti. :D Up until season 6, the show was produced and shot in Vancouver, BC (aside from a few location trips and obvious B-roll shots). A lot of TV was produced there in the 80s and 90s, because it was really easy to make the city look like pretty much anywhere in North America... except for a few times (like in this ep) where west coast forests don't really look or feel like east coast forests.

Since you asked, this show was shot in Vancouver! Don't know any specific locations, but I think they shot in Canada until season...six? At some point they switched to LA, but I'm not sure when exactly.

I watched all of these when they originally aired (not on HBO, unfortunately), and eventually bought the dvd box set. . These reactions have been so great that they have become my must-watch Sunday night entertainment! Great reactions and a great show!!

Baconbob23

You seem like such a charming person! Maybe that is weird to say? XD

I know Claire Stansfield from Xena, and even though it’s brief that we actually see her toward the end, I love this episode for the glimpse of her. I like Mulder’s fierce protection, insistence that she’s just trying to survive. Great review :)

FBI agents are "feds" not cops. Feds investigate and enforce federal law whereas cops investigate and enforce local laws. Xflies was not on HBO. it was on Fox. But a bit of history here now. So in 1993 cheaper hotels or motels would still often just have rabbit ears or local channels only. If it had HBO that meant it was a nice place with some good upgrades!

Okay... KAT.... I'm sorry I did not make it to the last livestream. Unfortunately the work Christmas party is alway at the same time... and even when I try to participate - the net connection there is not great. So I was too late again. And I wanted very much to wish You very Merry Christmas. So I am doing this now I guess. :) Yeti - is a Snow Man from the mountains. Ask Wampas - they are sort of cousins... :D (white fur) In the USA and probably Canadian forests you can bump into Sasquatch (Big Foot - watch "Harry and the Hendersons" from 1987 - dark brown fur). This kids party needed Kindergarten Cop (Shut up - it is not a tumor). At least doggie got some cake. :D Thanks KAT. Ho... Ho... Ho... ;) XD

The Horror Coach strikes again. Good job on the Yeti guess. This series just gets better. You are going to loves the Film later on down the road. In Southern California this Series ran on KTTV Channel 11 in Hollywood.

That park ranger actor was really good. I noticed how well he was playing the "Want to talk about it, but very uncomfortable/hesitant" part.
