Always glad to see you Kat!

Kat instantly becomes drunk when she sings the intro.

It literally is true and what everyone needs

"The man they call Jayne!!" I've grown to appreciate more and more over the years...it was never my favorite, but now I love how much character development we get in this episode! Not just for Jayne, but for Simon and Kaylee. And I love the parallel between the final conversation and the one between Rook and River...I had never made that connection before! This show...is perfect. :)

getting closer to knowing the song Kat haha love the reaction

You kinda almost have to feel bad for Jayne. It's like he honestly can't fathom why anyone would ever do anything for unselfish reasons.

I'm happy you pointed out the parallel between the scene with River and Book about The Bible and the scene with Jayne and Mal about people needing something/someone to believe in. Not everyone catches that.

She just better be ready to sing along with it by the time she gets to the movie.

Apparently that whole bit about slaves building the pyramids isn't true at all. There's evidence they were well paid and well fed. But people will never stop debating it.

I know I'm getting here late; but I just wanted to point out that Kat's reaction when "The Man They Call Jayne" starts playing is almost identical to Simon's. She's grinned and laughed in pure enjoyment and appreciation before, and jumped in shock from time to time, and Lord knows this show has a lot of those moments. But I think this is the first time on this series watch that her brain has simply stopped being able to process what's happening for a few seconds. Which is EXACTLY the reaction I had when first watching the series. So, yeah, this is a fun watch. This is the second time I've done a rewatch of the show with a friend who's totally new to it on the couch on the other side of the room (in this case, a metaphorical internet couch and room, but the principle holds), and it's always fantastic.
