K, Zachary

You know there is like multiple seasons of this right? Next week is one of the best episodes. At one of the most likely to be true.

Sky Commanda

I like this format personally watching with u is so fun! But as for skipping the theme song.. sometimes the tag line changes. Its rare usually for big important episode they change the tag line

Amy

"Charlie, do you believe in shapeshifting?" "This is a funeral." *red-tailed hawk screech* In the running for one of the best out-of-context clips from The X-Files. 😂

Owen Kosik

As one of the people who asked not to skip, I do actually have my own copy of the show playing because I like to have it on the big screen, and if I just watch your video then the episode is in a little box in the corner of my screen lol

Owen Kosik

Thank you for your consideration though 🙏

Re: watching the main titles, sometimes there's a little easter egg there at the end. They become more frequent in later seasons, and when happens, it's usually a sign that you're about to watch one of those "important episodes."

TGrimace

Oh yeah. You would definitely love Fringe. If practical and gross effects make you feel 'tingly', then you'll never get enough of Fringe! I love this format. I don't have to sync up with my copies, don't have to worry about taking a food break or something and coming back to unpause only to spend another 15 seconds trying to get it synced again.

Dave_Dot_Executable

Personally I prefer it with the video and sound so I don't have to bother syncing up my own copy, if the copyright MIBs don't come to your house about it.

Rayve

I prefer the video/sound on screen as you have it now (it’s a big reason I stay subbed, I understand it can be tough with TPTB but having to sync irks me because I don’t want to have two screens going). I don’t skip the intro simply because I like it 😂 but I am not syncing so no Input there. Monster of the week can really only be determined at the end, imo, when you can see if it applies to the larger overarching story, or a standalone episode.

Jessie Caldwell

However you present, that's how I watch...no one's place to dictate your choices. This episode has always been a fav.

Michael clark

Good practical effects but not quite American Werewolf in London effects…

BrakYeller

What is it with you and equating "gross" practical effects with food? It's delightful, is what it is... your next channel should be a squishy food/PFX mash-up ASMR channel. The sheriff in this episode is played by Michael Horse, yet another 'get' of an actor who classes up everything he's in. Both he and David Duchovny played significant roles in another great series, Twin Peaks. If you haven't seen it, well... it might scratch the X-Files itch once you're done with the X-Files. It is a strange, funny, ephemeral little gem of a show, sometimes intensely scary and thematically very dark. Think of it as one long X-Files episode directed by David Lynch... it's not a stretch to say that the X-Files owes a LOT to Twin Peaks. Twin Peaks strutted so the X-Files could *run.*

CLFuqua87

Please leave it on the screen. I just cast your reaction straight to the tv and watch it like that. Simple and fun.

CLFuqua87

Deputy Hawk!!! You gotta react to Twin Peaks someday. It would be amazing to see.

The first five seasons of The X-Files were shot in Vancouver British Columbia, so the rain is a given. With this show, when it's not raining, it's an anomaly. Also, Vancouver was a major production hub for TV and movies in the 90s, and the local actors pool was smaller, but just as strong as L.A., New York or Chicago, so you would see the same actors show up in several different TV shows and movies. As you noticed, really good work by the actors in this episode.

Michael Gehrman

For God's sake DO NOT go back to a horrible muted format! That would ruin the experience! A major part of why I am a patreon member and am happy to pay extra every month is because of this great format, which is hugely superior and convenient. Sometime in the intro on some episodes, they change what the caption says. Someday, you really should try reacting to the Fringe TV series, which is outstanding in terms of writing, acting, directing and intelligent, mature storylines. This was your usual super entertaining and brilliant reaction! I loved the funeral scene. I took a lot of course work in anthropology in college, with an emphasis on native cultures, so this was an added great bonus for me.

jamesthevampyr

yes. I do run my own copy. I sync it at the start. then i just turn down the volume on my copy and listen to your audio. If the intro is skipped it just means i have to sync it twice.

Taco Wolf

I like the way you've been doing these, I haven't been syncing my own copy out of 100% pure laziness so idc if you skip the intro or not. I especially like this format when you put up videos for movies that I've seen but don't have copies of and can't find on streaming. Also it's nice because when I do sync up my own copies, idk if it's a latency issue or my computer being old or what but it usually goes out of sync at some point and I have to pause either your video or my copy, once or twice while viewing. It's not a big deal, but it's cool when I don't have to do that bc you provide a copy of the movie.

Who Are These People

Sometimes Sync doesn't work when different file versions or streaming services work at different framerates.

Who Are These People

"Don't reach...are we reaching?...Nah." Kat, with the X-Files you can never reach far enough.

RJ Inkglider

What about that taxidermy Martian standing in the corner behind you Kat? Lol.

RJ Inkglider

Seems to me that people will let her know when the tagline changes. It might have been a big deal when the series aired, but it's 30 years later.

RJ Inkglider

I agree with everyone about this format being the best. I don't have a local copy of X Files to sync anyway.

RJ Inkglider

Seconded for Twin Peaks. I think Kat would love the Lynchian mood and humor. I think Chris Carter was definitely a fan of Twin Peaks if he cast this actor and borrowed so many tonal elements from the show.

RJ Inkglider

I totally forgot that DD was in Twin Peaks. He was always in drag so I totally forgot.

RJ Inkglider

I'm all in favor of going back to the "ultra fun squishy practical effects" of yore.
