YouTube isn't letting me talk in the chat! I'm here and can't say hi! :(

Crystal&Poppins

Hello new friend- I am not really sure if this is the place to say hello- but my elder millenial butt doesn't internet smoothly soooo here we are. I decided yesterday that since you are my favorite thing on "television"... so I would rather subsribe to you than the paramount/prime/crave vortex of scrolling doom! Thank you for doing you. It is lovely to 'meet' you. xo

Willow and Top Secret are must-watches. Top Secret is a comedy. Also, I have been recommending Hot Fuzz which is kinda sorta a horror/thriller and mostly a comedy.

OK. Since I wasn't able to use the chat (still have no idea why), here's a few recommendations that I wanted to share, but couldn't: Comedies: Arsenic and Old Lace. It's a comedy set on Halloween (so slightly on brand). And while it's not scary, it has a few...menacing moments, you could say. But the ridiculousness is turned up to 14, so you don't even feel nervous. And you should check out the Marx Brothers! A Night at the Opera is a great place to start, and those guys are a lot of fun. Rom Coms: Roman Holiday, The Philadelphia Story, Some Like it Hot, How to Steal a Million Silent Films: The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari and The Phantom of the Opera And I can't wait for when you drop your Serenity reaction!!!

Arsenic and Old Lace is one of my favorites. That and Bringing Up Baby (Katherine Hepburn's deadpan deliveries are the best) Have you seen The Children's Hour (1961) with Audrey Hepburn and Shirley MacLaine? I watched that one recently, it's so good and so sad and so infuriating.

EmilyKT

I have seen The Children's Hour! It's a great movie (though the main kid, Mary is pretty awful...both as a character and her acting is pretty over the top IMO), but I loved both Shirley Maclaine and Audrey Hepburn! I mean, I love Audrey in almost anything (another not so subtle plug for Wait Until Dark, lol). Charade is a ton of fun, too! Her and Cary Grant running around Paris falling in love and trying to find some money. *chef's kiss*

Oh hell yeah, Charade is awesome! That and To Catch a Thief, I love anything that's got a bit of sneak to it. :D
